  3. I didn't have an auxillery monitor so I was flying the jib blind trying to guess the framing, so I do agree the framing could have been better.

  6. I have a mint condition, fully functioning, Nizo 4080. I used this camera for a couple projects I finished and no longer need it. It is very quite, the quitest super 8 I've ever heard, also includes the useless original mic, a macro attachement, lenscap, 2 eye cups, accumulator and power supply and a vintage leather camera bag. I will sell it for $399, if interested please send me an email directly as I do not visit this post that often, thanks. here is a link to the pic. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r134/jo...p/myspace11.jpg some footage from this camera
  7. Cool stuff, what are you shooting with? Also about how long did you spend shooting this? It seems to me that a little more planning for your shots would go a long way for improving the look you are trying to achieve, also spend a little more time lighting your shots, I know that you tube makes it hard to tell what the lighting looked like but I am just commenting on what I saw. Keep up the effort, it will pay off for you. jon
  8. I liked the shaky camera. Looked overal very nice for a first movie, I also just finished shooting my first feature lenghth movie. I used the sony hdr-fx1, as at the time it was the only 16x9 hd that I could afford. We got fairly decent results from it. We shot every thing using a shutter of 1/60th and then converted into 24p using a software called dvfilm. It seemed to take the video edge off of the footage. We also used magic bullet to give the footage a color style. I am enterest in seeing your final project. Is there a link where I can sign up for email updates on the project? I agree with many of the posters that the acting is the weak point but I think that is typically the case with no budget films, just figure out a way to use the acting you have in the most believable way. Good luck. jon
  9. Every thing looked great. There was one shot where I didn't really believe the actor and that was in the grocery store, the kid with the goaty stands up into the frame and licks his lips, the shot was great though, the acting bugged me. Just my opinion but overall a strong reel. jon
  10. Hi, This is a short that I shot for the 48hour film festival in San Francisco. We won best cinematography for the event which was held in 2006. It was shot on a sony hdr-fx1, edited using final cut pro, colorized using magic bullet. Other equipment we used was a rolling tool cart that was improvized as a dolly, a light weight jib arm and a small light kit. For you who have not heard of this festival, each team picks a genre from a hat on friday night, the finished movie is turned in on sunday eve. Let me know what you think. jon http://www.tkpsite.com/movies.asp?thisURL=...0PX&h=480PX

    Nizo 4080

I purchased a Nizo 4080 from Super 8 Camera Shop, and have run about 4 rolls of film through it. I was able to find a pdf manual for the 6080 but not for the 4080. Does anybody have any idea where I can get a hold of one? Also I am looking for a camera that has the ability keep the shutter open for the entire exposure, i.e 1fps with the shutter open for one second. Thanks.
  12. I like the beaulieu 4008 zm2, or my new favorite, is my nikon r10. You can check the photos at this url. http://home.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...d0-5ad5c8dd2007 j
  13. I just sent a roll of 100d to Pro8mm and asked them to send it back to me using the most cost effective method. It cost $15 us. And I live in the same state! I call them up and told them that I shipped the roll to them using priority mail which is a 2day servoce and it cost $4.00, they replied that it was due to thier use of DHL. They don't care if they are losing business. I also recently had four rolls of film telecined by them which was supposed to be supervised and color corrected. When Got the footage back it was not color corrected and the tranfer didn't look that great. I am going to use a local service which does a very nice job and is conidrably more affordable. Here is some footage I shot on my nizo 4080, youtube makes it look like crap but just roll with it. jon
  14. Nice shots, I wouldn't have recycled them in that short of a video though.
