  1. NBC Shooter (I spent twenty years shooting news out of Burbank, who do you shoot for?), did you get a chance to take a look at the UCLA basketball footage shot with the HVX200...they were playing it at DVExpo West. Looked pretty amazing. I agree with Simon W, I would add the HVX200 as a second camera. I currently own an SDX900 w/a Fujinon HD lens, and the 200 would be a good fit with my kit. I want to wait a little longer to see how the HD production world shakes out. Don't know much about the Sony DSR450 but have read good things about it on other boards. Good luck to ya!
  2. I matched my Panasonic SDX900 with a Fujinon HA18x7.6 lens. For my needs and budget, its a good fit. I am sure that there are lenses that breathe less, but I am happy with the pictures that I make with this combo.
  3. Hi Scott, I've always used and have had good results with Porta Brace equipment. After checking out the alternatives for a raincover for my SDX900, I decided on a Kata RC-1. I found it to be well built, access in all the right places and competitively priced.
  4. Thanks Jason, EPK is Electronic Press Kit. I've spent almost twenty years shooting in the world of news, and recently ventured in a new direction. I've used both Canon and Fujinon lenses, and you can't go wrong with either, price point is important, need to stay on budget. Curious to hear what others are doing with their SDX900's (love my camera!) Fernando.
  5. Hello, I am currently looking to purchase a lens for my SDX900. Mainly work in ENG/EFP/EPK world. Also some docs. I am curious as to what kind of work and what type of glass others are using. I am interested in the new Fujinon HA18x7.6erm and the Canon HJ17ex7.7B(both are HD). Have any of you used either one ? I am also leaning towards the 0.8 converter option (don't want to lose the 20% in focal length). I appreciate any thoughts, insights or suggestions. I have been following this forum for quite some time and find it interesting and very informative. Thank you all. Fernando.
