  1. Shooting a bus interior "crash" scene at 1,000fps. The bus will be positioned in a parking lot where natural sunlight will be used to light a chroma screen background positioned a few feet away from the windows. To light the subjects inside, I plan to use diffused 20k and 10k tungstens (gelled half-blue or so) through the windows. Does anybody have experience with a similar setup? Any words of advice?
  2. recently acquired a 2nd-hand hvx200. sadly it didn't come with the P2 installation software. doh! does anybody know where i might be able to download it? help!
  3. Shooting HVX200 with redrock and primes. Location and subject matter deals with a tropical island; beaches, jungles, harsh sunlight. Sweeping vistas and beautiful photography are in order, perhaps a bit of time lapse ala koyaanisquatis and baraka. This would be ideal for film, but budget will not allow it. Initial thoughts would be to make the h.d look work for instead of against me. Lo-con filters? Extensive fill light? Magic settings in the menu?How can i deal with these high-contrast shooting conditions with the format? Any bits of advice/words of wisdom from those of you who have experienced similar situations?

  5. I've always wondered how commercial D.P's achieve that soft wraparound look to a model's face. Very evenly lit but still with a great deal of modelling. Also in shampoo commercials where a subject's hair has an even sheen to it. Are these huge bounced sources? Does that glow coming from the skin achieved in post? Or was it all done in camera?
  6. Shooting a feature for the first time on an HVX-200 w/ redrock adapter and nikon still lenses. Can anyone recommend a sturdy and reliable capture and storage system for the P2 cards? Locations will range from rivers, jungles, and beaches so the equipment will be put under a lot of punishment. Also any comments about the redrock w/ nikon still lens package?
  7. I'm sorry I should have been more specific, I meant the Arriflex 35 BL. I looked at the specs in Jon Fauer's Arriflex 35 book and it was listed as capable of running 5-100 fps. Does it need a special motor and mag rollers for it to run in slow motion? Thanks for your help guys, this forum is a great help.
  8. How do I change the framerate of an Arri BL? The only controls visible controls are 24/25/30 on the rear panel.
  9. Hi, does anyone know where Fuji 35mm film stock can be purchased and processed in still camera spools? Seems like none of the labs I've looked up do this anymore.
