  1. Granted I thought the above film was faulty in the direction in it's writing. I truly wanted to like it, but the character transformation of Phoenix's character was atrociously bad and unbelievable and some of the acting choices towards the latter portion of the film were questionable at best, where was the direction? i liked most of the story in the 1st half but it could've been a much better, and stronger film across the board? But there was one thing that amazed be about this film and that was the CINEMATOGRAPHY. It truly evoked the look of the 80s and it felt like there a softness/diffusion over the lens. or something else (i'm not a cinematographer so don't have a clue). any info would be great? also, anyone know what the stock was and what camera it was filmed with? thanks.
  2. I'm very curious if there were any articles on the cinematography for Inland Empire. All I know is that it was shot with the Sony PD 150 and that Lynch was one of the five or so camera ops on the shoot. I don't think the cinematographer was an ASC member, so would that also be a problem in having an articles in the magazine. If anyone has any further info regarding the cinematography or rather digital cinematography on Inland Empire that would be great. For what it's worth, I enjoyed how it looked based on the concept. Thank you.
  3. Has anyone used a Fogal 110 to soften up a sharp lens when shooting on 35mm, and what would be the reason for it? Can you use a relatively softer lens (given that you create the certain circle of confusion) that you are going for? Or is it more for a different quality, aesthetic quality that you're going for.
  4. Hi, New to the boards, and took a look at the posts, so I don't think someone posted on this topic before. Regarding Little Miss Sunshine, does anyone know what stocks it was filmed on? And whether it was 16mm or 35mm? (at first, i thought it was shot on super 16mm, but now I'm under the impression that it's 35mm?) Also, what cameras were used? And did they have a DI. Thank you.
