  1. Good idea. The old photo lenses have simply optical schemes and primitive multicoating or without MC. The technology of production of a old photo lenses was simply too, but, paradox - this is lenses can make great images. This is pictures have a some art " salt". We tired from high sharpness and high contrast pictures and wish soft and low contrast " romantic " style. As of my opinion and experience, the very interested lenses from old medium format photo cameras, like 9x12, 6x9, 6x6 sm. I test many old lenses with photo cameras and had great results. The special art style of image can show you wide possibility at creation. Old medium format and 35 mm SLR photo lenses lenses have long FFD and can be attach to DSCL cameras. I confirm of a idea to find of a new art tools for realization a new creative ideas. I can draw attention on " monocle " ( single glass optical system ) type of lenses too.

I can suppose, you have hand made upgrade of original edition of Kinor-16 SX-2M camera. This is version of upgrade have additional handle on body,from above a motor. At one position of handle, the 85 filter setup before film gate. At other position, the filter set out of film gate. Yes, of course, the original user manual do not have any information about this filter, because, this is do not factory made. This is hand made upgrade. The matter s that, the base color reversal film at USSR was CO-T-90 LM film, 90 ASA, tungsten color reversal film. We do not had other type of color reversal films. From other side, a set of Kinor-16 had OPF-1-2M 12-120 mm zoom lens. This is zoom lens do not had 85 filter at set and many camera mans build additional devices for setup 85 filter to zoom lens for shooting with daylight. The one guys make of hand made front filters. The other guys set of filter from rear side of zoom lens. You have camera with one idea to setup 85 filter. The next set of Kinor-16 SX-2M had OPF-12-1 10-100 zoom lens and this is zoom lens have rear color correction filters at set. As of my experience to repair and service of Kinor, i recommend to take off of additional filter control mechanism, because, the parts of this mechanism can destroy of shutter disk. Now, we do not have problem to find a any 85 filters with any diameter for attach at front side of lens. We have daylight and tungsten color reversal and negative films.
  4. You must be careful, russian electronic industry do not have hard regulations at color marking of power wires red or black. The wires can have digital marking as of schematic. Need check of resistance between power socket pins and pins electrolytic condenser with big capacity ( power signal filter ), before transistor of voltage regulator. Or to check wires between power socket pins and power fuses. The power fuses set at positive battery wire.
  5. Need picture of this motor. 7 pins socket ? Any Konvas motor do not have battery power socket with 7 pins. This can be motor module without speed control module. 17EP-16 APK, 19EP-16 APK motor have 4 pin battery power socket. The all other russian cine cameras with build in speed control electronic have 4 pin power socket too. This is standard decision of connect battery with camera. 15EPSS motor have motor module and power unit module with speed control electronic and battery inside. The motor module have cord with 7 pins plug , what connect to power unit module. But, the motor module have DC motors and taxo inside only. 18EP-16 APK motor have motor module and external speed control and battery modules. The motor module connect with external speed control modules by cord with 19 pins plugs. May be this is motor module of 5BD-16APK motor ? I can suppose, you have motor module of 15EPSS motor. Pins 1,2 power from power unit module to Main DC motors, pins 3,6 output signal from Taxo, pins 4,5, output signal from start-stop switch to power unit module. pin 7 do not use. 15EPSS motor module included two 27 v DC motors series connection, that's why, the power unit module send to motor module signal up to 54 v.   6. Kinor-16 SX-1M/2M and Konvas-2M/ kinor-35H ( be called OCT-19 ) have a two difference lens mounts. Kinor-16 SX-2M have four blades design, diameter 43 mm, FFD 52 mm, Konvas-2M/ Kinor-35H ( OST-19 ) have four blades design with diameter 68 mm and FFD 61 mm. Kinor-16 SX 1m/2M cameras can have many list of prime lenses : from 6 mm up to 300 mm, zoom lenses : 16 OPF-1-2M 12-120 mm 16 OPF-1-2M with 0.75 x front attachment 10-100 mm 16 OPF-12-1 10-100 mm 16 OPF-12-1 with 0.75 x front attachment 7.5-75 mm. All lenses from Kinor-16 series made at LOMO and a some lenses have similar optical blocks,like from 35 mm film cameras. If you wish use anamorphic lenses. You can have a few ways: 1. to upgrade lens mount to Arri PL and use anamorphic lenses of 35 mm film cameras with Arri Pl lens mount. 2. To upgrade lens mount on Konvas-2M/Kinor-35H (OST-19 ), (theoretically, this is possible ) and use LOMO anamorphic lenses . But, the idea to use of anamorphic lenses from 35 mm film cameras can have a some side. The super wide angle anamorphic lens for 35 mm film cameras - 30 mm, rare and expensive lens, popular wide angle lens 35 mm. But, for 16 mm filming, 35 mm lenses will have angle of view like " normal" lens. Where you will take wide angle lenses for 16 mm filming ??? If you like of anamorphic shooting, may be you need go to 35 mm filming ? Kinor-16 SX can be converted to Arri PL. Kinor-16 SX can be upgrade to multi speed crystal sync speed version of motor with digital film counter and remote control. Kinor-16 can be upgrade to video assistance version.   7. I don't have personal experience to use of this type of adapter, but, i use of Hartblei Super Rotator lens and other version of Hartblei Tilt-shift lenses. You can see ring with marks and digitals. You will need turn of this ring and set need digital near main mark. The digital 0- 0 degree of tilt, digital 8 - 8 degree of tilt. And, the all adapter can be turn on 360 degree and you can set of any direction of tilt.   8. OCT-19 lenses the lenses of professional 35 mm cine cameras Konvas, Kinor-35H, Kinor-35S and other. But, don't forger, what the super wide angle lens 18 mm for 35 mm filming will like " normal" lens for 16 mm filming. And you will need wide angle lenses for 16 mm shooting and you will need use classic 16 mm lenses. That's why, as of my opinion, do not need mix of 35 mm lenses and 16 mm filming project. If you have good set of spherical and anamorphic 35 mm lenses, may be, you need Konvas-2M body of 35 mm cine camera and shoot of a 35 mm footages ? About OST-19 and 16 mm cine camera, may be possible build special lens mount for 16 mm cine cameras, need check limitation of sizes. As of 16 mm cine camera, i recommend to check information about Kinor-16 SX-2M Professional cine camerta with registration pin, mono-lens mount with four blades lens mount. Full reflextion design of cine camera with quich change 100 ft, 400 ft film magazines, electrical motor, can be upgrade to crystal sync speed. Kinor-16 use of a russian LOMO lenses, prime lenses from 6 mm, up to 300 mm, zoom lenses 7.5-75 mm, 10-100 mm, 12-120 mm. Kinor-16 Can be upgrade to Arri PL lens mount, Super 16 film gate, can be upgrade to video assistance version. you can find many additional information about Kinor-16 and other russian cine cameras on my site.

  10. Good idea. The list of Pentacon Six/Kiev-60 lenses have very good lenses, like : Kalyner-3 150 mm F2.8 Sonnar Carl Zeiss 180 mm F 2.8 Jupiter 36 250 mm F3.5 The images have high quality. I had P6/Kinor-35H lens mount adapters a few years ago. If you need, I can send you a some pictures by PM.
  11. You can find of original russian cine camera with OST-19-144 lens mount. If the high speeds 72..96 fps important for you, you need find of high speed cameras. This can be 2KSK, maximum speed 150 fps, OST-19 lens mount. But, this is do not "handheld" camera, this is studio camera. 2KSK have high precision transport mechanism and will ask of BH upgrade of pins of claw mechanism. Next idea 1KSK, high speed camera, but, this is do not reflex. "Handheld" high speed 1SKL do not have OST-19 mount, to have special lens mount. If the "Handheld" more important for you from high speed, and you can limit of speeds up to 50fps, this can be popular Konvas-2M. Reflex, crystal sync speed, OST-19 lens mount, 200/400 ft magazines, real "Handheld". I think, this can be best choose from quality and price value. Kinor-35S, Kinro-35H have OST-19 lens mount. And one form last Kinor-35 design - cine camera Kinor-35R, "handheld", OST-19. Other idea, to find Mitchell cameras with BNCR mount and upgrade to OST-19 mount, but, will need upgrade motor control too. At final, I wish underline again, I think, Konvas-2M can be best choose for you after Canon-5D. About technical questions can ask me.

  13. P.S I hope you use of digital external light meter ? K-3 have primitive photoconducting cell integrated light meter with low precision and big inertia. At future, after a some K-3 reels, you will think about wide angle lenses, crystal sync speed motor and 120 m rolls. And your view can touch on russian professional 16 mm cine camera Kinor-16 SX-2M.   15. Russian film making industry had a few type of filters OC series. This is orange filters with difference thickness of glass. OC-5 ( 1 mm ), OC-6 ( 2 mm ), - color correction filters for use of "T"( russian LN film ) films at daylight ( show like 85 filters) . OC-12 - middle orange filters for B&W film shooting. OC-14- high density orange filter for B&W film shooting. As of OC-12 - transparent curve have rate 560-2700 nM and show as of "hard cutting curve". OC-6 have elastic curve at rate 300-600 nM and hard curve 600-2700 I can send curves of a OC12 and OC6 filters by PM. As for me, OC-12 do not color correction filter for color film, this is filter for B&W filming. I recommend to find original 85 filters.
  16. The adapter on image show good. If you wish, can ask me about upgraded OST-18 lenses on Arri PL and i can show you many real images from real lenses. If the adapter made good, the lens will have good focusing. But, do not need remember, OST-18 and Arri PL to difference type of focusing mechanism. Arri Pl have fixed mount disk and all revolving parts at focusing set inside body of lens. OST-18 have fixed outside tube inside camera and revolving outside tube of mount at rear part of lens. The revolving tube have special stop pins and do not unscrew at full from camera lens mount.

  19. Do you have original Kinor-35H anamorphic ground glass ? Can you see a cross and border lines on ground glass ? To test of viewfinder without lens. You must see a cross and borders on ground glass with high sharpness. If not, need check a viewfinder.
