Directing Actors and Directing Photography, and Edition. I`m very into the creative aspect and good taste of both. When I direct Actors I look for the most genuine delivery possible, in most cases I have to either be creative and get a specific reaction with or without the actors knowledge of the end result or I just try to cast the best I can and then play with the best attributes I can detect from my actor. When I direct photography I like to get the most film feel possible from the digital realm and also try to play with lighting (available or not) and textures as much as I can, I value the importance of these characteristics when delivering a specific feel and how it can afect the audiences reaction. <br />When directing in Post-prod. I value the importance of the rythm and build up that can't be easily visualized on the set; I have to be very open to use or discard scenes without being emotionally attached to any basing my criteria on placing myself on the audience stand point and judge from there. Involving myself in post - production has helped me very much on the set.

  1. Would you then say that a cmos chip does bad in low light conditions?, more noise perhaphs? I heard that the RED camera has a cmos chip, If I got the name correctlly Isn't this camera really high end? How abouth the chip size? doesn't cmos tend to be larger than a regular ccd chip in similar categories?
  2. Adrian Thanks for your observation. I'm Federico Pedroza now, no longer fede4444; I re-posted and re-stated my post. I hope you can comment on my inquiry.
  3. I'm thinking about buying a new JVC camera that has CMOS technology, wich is replacing the previous version that had 3CCD. The salesperson tried to explain how instead of the 3 Chips through the prism set up we all know; now the CMOS technology is all about a larger chip that recieves each color separately. He says it's better, but he didn't look like he knew what he was talking about; I really didn't understand if this technology is better than 3CCD. I tend to think that a larger chip size is better due to depth of field issues. Has anyone compared both? Which is better? Be well Federico Pedroza
  4. I like 3ccd..bit I'm beign sold cmos tecnology instead. Whats theatres difference?
  5. Hi everyone It's been a few years since I last used this site. 4 years ago I opened a restaurant and got disconnected from shooting shorts and my dream of making a movie. Now I'm thinking of buying a home use-(portable) camera that could also serve as an "enough" quality instrument in case I shoot something that could later be used as footage for a more ambitious project. I as many people value -3CCD, Full HD, 24 Frames capability, On board Hard Disk, Nice Chip Size (for depth of field), Size-Portability (for travel). I'm looking in spending around $1,000 with many if not all of these specs. I appreciate any info Be well
  6. "Intentionally Overengineered"; WOW!! can anyone Overengineer anything Accidentally? I`m glad the XL2 people cleared that up for me. I`m sure that for today`s standards Overengineering any camera at that price range would have to include HD capabilities and they still would have followed JVC`s HD miniDV; perhaps a 3CCD HD miniDV would have merited the Overengineering claim. To be breif I see the same design and look, same available technology very new slogan. Fred
  7. I asked the following question before but still don`t understand the significance of the new improvements on the updated DVX100A version. Is it that the new one is worth the price difference of a t least 1,000 dolars? or are the major quality charactersitics that make this a great camera present in the original one. Fred
  8. What accesories can I expect to be in the box of my DVX100 when I recieve it. Or better yet to check with the dealer if he`s sending the complete product before I spend the cash. The best price I`ve encountered yet is around $2,000.00, too good to be true? any comments? Thanks Fred
  9. Hi I`ve been studying the DV100 and Imight be just about to buy it, I like almost everything I`ve read about it. I also like the price, I`ve seen it selling new for around $2500 dollars. My intention is to shoot a couple of short films and perhaphs a longer project with it, and like many, I hope to produce material I can be proud of . So anyways I`ll be stuck with this camera for 2 or 3 years I guess maybe longer, all the while the new more sofisticated and inexpensive HD miniDvs will come rushing in the same day I start shooting obviously. Can anyone sugest a better buy or value for this price range. Any comment will be well taken, $ 2500 bucks will tighten my collar quite a bit with my current finances, but at the same time I can`t put this off any further. Thanks, Fred
  10. Hi First of all what is the visual difference between 24P and 24PA? does one look smoother or more film like than the other? Second, If I shoot on either, will I have any problems while editing on Premier? and what should I avoid in order to be flag problem free. Fred
  11. Can anyone tell me if the new DVX model really out performs the previous one or are are the improvements minor? Fred
  12. Hi I'm about to start a new short, and was going to use the new panasonics 24p mode, but If I want to start right away I'll have to settle for an XL1 that is free for me to use. So I was thinking of using the XL1, shooting in normal interlaced mode and then let magic bullet do it's magic with its 24p simulation. Does this sound ok? if not I would like to know what I'm loosing by doing this, and if anyone can come up with any pointers , then let me have'em. Fred
