  1. Hi , I have an Aerial shoot next week with a Libra head and an Alexa. I'm hoping to use a Fuji Cabrio 19-90m zoom since it is a similar weight and size to a Optimo 16-42mm. The technician has concerns about image stability beyond 42mm but I'm needing a longer lens. Anybody out there with any experience of using the Cabrio or any long lenses with the Libra on a Helicopter nose mount. Thanks Andrew.

    A question scampering in mind is that ,does exposure really matters diffrent type of projection houses i mean small and big one , if your film is being projected in a big cinema hall with carbon projector,I got very poor experience very dim and the same print when i previwed in small preview theater with athe same kind of carbon projector it was good,

Hi Stephen, Here is a low res example of a clip I shot recently. http://www.flyingfish.co.nz/~upload/STREET...T_CITY_H264.mov Build 16 500 ASA Master Primes and a Century/Canon 200mm Offlined: FCP Onlined: R3D rendered out as 1080 dpx seq Graded on Baselight. As Matthew said Build 16 appears to render more acceptable noise patterning than build 15 and therefore a more usable DR, you are not having to crush the image to get rid of the noise. I haven't done any extensive testing but the camera seems to be giving about 10-11 clean stops to work with now. The R3D files look great as do the proxies. However the post route and work flow is an area that post houses need to address to get the most from the camera. We still seem to be plaugued by noise in the final render? Anybody getting clean, noiseless and compression free outcomes from a DPX post route ? Andrew.
  4. Hi Tim, The camera has a full aperture gate (24mm x 17mm). I'm not sure if the PL mount has been centred to the gate, I've never checked. The ground glass holder has not been modified to accept super 35 ground glasses. The Jurgen door looks as though it could get super 35 image coverage but I'm unsure of this. I have listed in the inventory that the viewfinder is "N35". Someone with more experience of Jurgen products could advise on this. Otto Nemenz carried out the PL mount conversion in 1999 on behalf of the previous owner Cranbrook films NZ so I'm not party to the ultimate details of the conversion. I have always shot std 35 projects with the camera. Hope this helps. Regards, Andrew.

  12. Mark, Not sure if your post is a hoax but I'll take your bait anyway. Let me reassure you the film does exsist. I was present during the shooting Peter Jacksons short film using the RED, and I witnessed the footage being down loaded on to Mac book.
