this "ultimate" amamorph setup "designed" by Old Unle Barry can be had for nothing and only uses 1minor built in body correcting lens between the ana adapter and the film. Cam uses C-mount. It can even shoot without the C-mount zoom using the internal single element correction lens as the only lens. Go anamorphic with Quartz clockwork cam you can even put this excellent Isco original R8 ana adapter directly onto the C-mount by using a minor step-down ring. no vignetting - no nothing. the rest is up to the filmmaker. s8hoot

Canon 814 XL-E or better 814 XLS for E6 stock?
S8 Booster replied to Stefan Kahlert's topic in Super-8
Canon 310 and 514XLS (and probably more lower end models) will not read the 64t properly will set it to 160. read my other post under the 64T topic. s/hoot -
canon 310xl will expose the 64T at 160. however, add a slight bit of tape on the cart film speed notch and it will be set to 40. search filmshooting.com for one of my old posts on this. since the 310xl use an separate "electric" eye for auto exposure control (ala Scoopic 16) and not ttl measuring you can add a ND filter on the lens top to match exposure right on and even match with an external 85B on lens too for a perfect exposure setting if you mod the cart. more on this in the same post at filmshooting.com i am pretty sure canon 514 XLXS will set teh fil spees the same way. however it is a TTL cam so the only way to get around this is to mod the cart to "40" to get a close match. all 8/1014s do read the 64 correctly as far as i know and definately the A/Z/E/XLS models s/hoot

you may want to take a look at this: Kahlfilm.de Super8 Farbe company generally not popular for its service though. also pro8mm.com used to have a ISO800 film but not sure if it is still avail. some other us supplier listed it recently. the 800 is known as a considerably grainy film in s8. Kodak´s new vision2 500T should give you the best overall results - low grain for its speed. a beaulieu cam non 4008 model with a fast lens may be the best option or a canon 310xl with a f1.0 lens but this got 18 fps only. however, it is a xl cam which enhance low light condition shooting quite a bit. non beamsplitter beaulieu 3008 n 5008 cams are low priced and highly underrated c-mount cams with a true motion picture shutter speed contrary to the 4008 - shoots better in lower light. beware of worn/damaged n expensive NiCd batteries. s/hoot

if i interpret Maulubekotofa correctly the 1014e or non xlss will do aprox 54fps in slomo depending on the batt condition and the xlss about 36 fps the same. s/hoot

quite a bit on 64t on filmshooting.com search thr archives. k40/64 compare: (1 sample) K40 verses 64T footage (142 MB as full rez mpeg) s/hoot

easily: the Rollces of reels; bonums with climatic capsules for film preservation if you can get hold of them, try w.screen centre. R s/hoot

got to be a mis-interpresting in the first place; "only for cameras accepting high speed films" (either in manual or auto mode) from 1 of my old posts on filmshooting.com usually referred to as half open and you may well use a degrees equivalent shutter angle/speed: s/hoot

SUPER 8 TODAY magazine first issue in the mail
S8 Booster replied to Chris Cottrill's topic in Super-8
you should check you sources before making conclusions from your imaginary world. see it is a big problem for you that you are kicked out of filmshooting.com forums 3 times but your information does no way hold water: the information about kodak moving all motion film to china was in fact given by kodak germany to the editor of "small format". unfortunately it was wrong and this was later corrected by Mr Pytlac. unfortunately as well, this just one of quite a few contradictive statements coming from kodak regarding s8 over the past years. in the end Mr. Pytlac seem to draw the longest straw though. s/hoot -
this covers S8<->16mm only but should still be useful: (from filmshooting.com)

Complex S8 lens questions for the Pro's out there.
S8 Booster replied to Adam Paul's topic in Super-8
whatever your visual impressions may be like - the xls canon zooms easily eclipses the resolution figures santo gives for the schneider be it primes or zooms - even wide - wide open. will be fine the day you guys know the differences between hard contrast and high resolution. in terms of "seeing" sharpness kodaks new neg film is more suitable as they are far sharper than k40 and much less grainy than the kodak bws. and santo, your samples sucks but worse - you are light years away from proving anything with those images - you hav eno ideea of how to set up reference shots. youre nothing more than a spindoctor. -

gotta be kiddin. the nikon shot looks like 16mm compared to your grainy out of focus image which has the typical schneider character of soft dark edges as well. how come you focus on your shoe tip to grass? is that where the action is? looks like the nikon zoom circumfrences the schneider prime on resolution almost as well as the canon zooms does. and the schneiders apparently lacks proper coating as well. -

probably a one-off. ive shot several vnfs with my canons 310XL / 514XLS / 1014XLS and have never had a problem with registration. the thickness should not be an issue if the e64 & v2 200t worked ok: E64: 0.155mm K40: 0.145mm VNF: 0.150mm V200T: 0.165mm V2 200T: 0.155mm s/hoot
