  1. Since Android has evolved I thought this thread could use some updating. I currently use: Celeste Lite (free) - Sun tracker DMX-DIP (free) - DMX to DIP calculator FilmCalculator ($40)- Calculates just about everything to do with film. DOP, lense angle, sun, footcandles depending on actual instrument, focal length, lens matching, etc... Bubble Level (free) - just as name says Mileage (free) - logs and charts a history of all your business driving. I have also found various other DMX tools but havn't implemented them into my work flow.
  2. http://www.fly-dolly.com/ seems to be what he is talking about. Weighs just under 22lbs with 9' of track. This could be nice for HD doc work. Comparatively, a 4' slider weighs 35-60lbs depending on the brand and material.
  3. They say it has a 100 hour life and it's dimensions are much smaller for $12. Has anyone used them? Are they as good as they sound or are there other issues?
  4. I worked on a film recently that was shot primarily car interior. We used a lot of light panels but those can be expensive. Here's an alternative I was put onto by Terry at Rocket Rentals in Arizona: http://www.theledlight.com/60LED_work_light.html If i remember right they meter'd in at 5300k. He had put pigeons and putty knives on them too. They put out just as many FCs as the $1500 PanelLite but for 40 bucks. They come with AC/DC adapters and can be shoved anywhere. I'm pretty sure you can get ones like that at any home depot/lowes too. On another note, there was a post about dimming PanelLites without effecting colortemp. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're changing the voltage of a light, even if it's an LED, you're changing the color temp.
  5. Has anyone tried using these instead of Photofloods? http://www.filmtools.com/nehoba2532qu.html
