Hello, thanks for any help you could offer. We shot some stuff on the cinealta, and we are looking for the most cost effective way of going through post production. We are going to cut on a mac g5, with final cut studio and a black magic hd capture card. We do not have a disk array, and storage is a problem. So im wondering if i should rent the JH-3, do a SD offline, and edit, then what comes next? or what? could someone please explain the whole process. Thanks

I am a student and am about to shoot a super 16mm film. The director wants a look similar to the film Se7en shot by Darius Khondji. I was wondering if anyone could offer me any advice in terms of film stock, and any processing techniques that would render such a look and feel. once again, any advice would be wonderful. I was wondering how you would, A set the focus on the bolex correctly, and B set the focus for dolly shots and moving camera, would you need to pull focus or what. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I am going to be shooting a student project on Kodak's Vision2 Daylight on an old Bolex, handcrank model, and was wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers for exposure, lighting, what lenses to use...etc, anything that could help me. Also how is the easiest way without going through telecine to create a desaturated look. And I am curious about aspect ratio framing, and how that is achieved in the bolex. Thank you.

For the past week I've done nothing but eat, sleep, and search the internet for the answer to your questions, as it was just a week ago in which I started to learn about the possibility of 35mm adapters. So far I've found some sites, nothing with any real good info, but I've just ordered all the necessary parts to start experimenting with building my own. i was wondering what the lens mount type was for the xl1, for instance, is it a type C or what, I know that xl1 solutions has an adapter and so does optex, but those are both pricey, does any one know of any good sources for an adapter besides these, thanks

If you are familiar with the P&S Technik mini 35 and know what it does, I am looking for a much more affordable way to recreate or mimic this device. I plan on buying a canon xl1-s, and am very interested in the ability to pull focus or rack focus. If you know of anything that could help, that would be great, thanks. chris

I was wondering if it was possible to shoot in 2.35:1 aspect ratio with the XL2, i know that there are lense converters to 16:9, and the XL2 offers a 16:9 ratio, so would you combine the two to achieve something close to 2.35, or what would i have to do, any help would be great, thanks. chris
