  1. Hi Thomas, Yes, the head is still available. I don't know the exact specs for the head, so I can't really say whether 180 lbs would be too much for it. The most I've ever put on it is a fully loaded 35mm package with a zoom lens, but nothing monstrous like that. Thanks, Chris
  2. Mini Worrall geared head in great condition. I purchased this head from Arri/CSC a few years ago, and have only used it a couple of times since then. This head can hold pretty much any camera, up to and including 35mm film cameras. Three gears in each axis. One great feature of this particular head (versus other Mini Worralls I've seen around) is the Sachtler sliding plate that is heavier-duty than what I assume is the original, and it also has a quick-release plate that makes life a ton easier on set, especially if you're working with another compatible Sachtler head. Head comes with a heavy-duty shipping case. This head is really a thing of beauty, and I'm only selling in order to help finance a Steadicam. $6000 USD plus shipping. Local pickup in Los Angeles (Long Beach) is possible. Thanks, Chris Freilich DP/Camera Op
  3. I'd love any input! http://www.virtuosofilms.com and click on the logo or on 'reel'. This is a 'sizzle' reel and I'll be putting together a narrative-only reel soon. Thanks, Chris
  4. Thanks, Sanjay, I think you're probably right about the offset idea. That was what I figured it might be, since it doesn't have any sliding bits. I wish I knew what to do with it. It seems like the panning Mitchell base is worth something, but I don't know... -- Chris
  5. This item was left over from a shoot I did last year. Nobody involved in the production and none of the rental houses claim ownership of it. It was not something we ordered for the shoot, and as a matter of fact, I don't know what its intended purpose is. As you can see, it has a Mitchell mount, and it pans very smoothly. The main part of this device is a U-channel design about 1 inch deep. (You can't see the U-shape that runs the length of the thing in the photos... sorry!) At one end it looks like another Mitchell-type mounting plate, but it's not standard. So you can mount this thing to a tripod or dolly, and push it to spin it around. Beyond that, I don't know. It kind of looks like the bottom half of a slider, but I'm stumped. Anybody ever seen anything like this? I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it.
