  1. Just wanted to share a video I made as a present for my friend's birthday. Ten points for the first person to recognize the hat. http://www.vimeo.com/1710751
  2. Hey everyone, I think similar topics have been on the board before but I was hoping you guys could take a look at this clip and give me some advice: http://www.vimeo.com/1249039 I was testing out a macro setup for a good shot of the iris but as I expected the lens is visible in the eye's reflection. I was thinking about covering all silver surfaces on the lens with black velvet, but perhaps there is a standard method out there I'm just not aware of. The clip was shot on a DVX100b with a Letus Extreme adapter and a Nikon 50mm 1.4 Ai-s (fully open) reversed on a Nikon 105mm 2.8 (at f/16). There was one light source (standard desk lamp) held a few inches from the eye. You can also see some white paper under the lens in the eye's reflection. Thanks again for looking.
  3. That was great! You were right about the art department doing an excellent job the sets were gorgeous and your landscape and other long shots were some of the best I've seen on DV. Congrats!
  4. Quality pictures at every link I clicked here. Mine aren't quite as good yet but here they are http://www.flickr.com/photos/21515253@N04/
  5. I'm not a gifted professional, but that was excellent. I loved the high shutter throughout, you gave a ton of energy and created a lot of anticipation around the man in black. You have great control over POV and kept me hooked throughout the entire thing. I'd love to hear about the production. Congrats!
  6. Thanks for the compliment! Will anything ever top Similo for DVX quality though?
  7. Hey Jason, I'll repost these screen captures later here but I'm in a rush right now so in case I forget you should head over to this link http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=117734&page=3 and check out the before and after screen grabs. Happy 2008
  8. Sure thing Jason. The piece was shot on the DVX100B with the following scene file settings: Detail = -7 V. Detail = -7 Detail Coring = -7 Chroma Level = 0 Chroma Phase = 0 Color Temp = 0 Master Ped = -7 A. Iris Level = -3 Gamma = Cinelike Knee = Auto Matrix = Cinelike Skin Tone Dtl = Off V Detail Freq = Thin Progressive = 24P(ADV) The lights used were 3 standard 4ft fluorescents, which were either hung by their extension cords or leaned up against the wall. A piece of white foam board was used as a bounce for a few things. That's about it, other than the costume which is a Russian gas mask I got on ebay for about $6 and a British flight suit I found in the basement of a local army navy store for $30. Thanks for the comments!
  9. much appreciated feedback Greg! and yes, the glasses... the guys on the tables were a little pretty for animated corpses... i'm just gonna have to chalk that one up to the rejuvenating properties of fallout radiation. i'm searching ebay right now for a lens to go on my new letus and hope to post something interesting in the not-so-distant future for everyone to enjoy/critique (hooray xmas money!). -doug
  10. Yeah, the three fluorescents in the room were the only things I was using for lighting (with the help of a white foam board for fill where needed).
  11. Read this article today and thought it might be of use: http://www.theasc.com/clubhouse/tricks/tip-glf1.htm Good luck with the shot!
