  1. If its going to be a big project, probably best to assign yourself one role. I'm saying this coz you'll end up checking yourself into a mental hospital by the end. Finds some books about film making to give you a better idea on the process involved before you start shooting or sign up to short courses mainly to find people who would be interested in helping you out.
  2. I'm studying film at uni and have looked into this for my own projects and came to the following conclusion: - 16mm. is a commonly used standard but is too expensive, I think for 100ft roll of film its about $100AUD. - Digital. Great to learn from and gives you the basics knowledge. From experience it can be tedious at times and after awhile it become less challenge because of the instant feedback of the viewfinder - super 8. more affordable film format and has a cool factor. processing can be expensive if you need to post it interstate. Sound sync looks like it might cause a bit of hassle. But thats my two cents on the matter.
  3. Howdy All, I found my dad's old super 8 camera and plan to shoot a short film during the semester break. Now I've figured out pretty much what all the buttons and dials do except two and I'm still confused to which film speed it reads. The first button is located on top of the casing, located near the lens barrel and is countered-sunk. Second button is on the back of the camera and when pushed a green light next to it lights up, dad believes that its a battery check but it only works when switched on. In regards to the film speed, I've looked at the super8wiki to get some info but find it a little confusing. There is a small black pin located 0.5in above the centering pin and a large silver pin below it. I assume the camera shoots 160T/100D but really not confident with my conclusion So if anyone could help out it would be awesome, hey even if the film can get off the ground you can have a technical credit :D Peace Norman
