  1. Thanks for the photos, Robert. I've just got to get a doo-hickey to attach the rails to the mounting screw, but I can see exactly how it SHOULD look from your photos. Dave
  2. If you have time to shoot a photo, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Dave
  3. Neither Chrosziel, 16x9 or ZGC were able to help, but after a lot of Googling, I found Carl Schlesinger at TCS in NYC, and he knew exactly what I have (pre 1990 matte box) and he had a 102-85mm step down ring, as well as an eyebrow (the eyebrow's sold today are a few mm smaller, and the tabs don't fit on the mounting screws). My plan is to pick up a "Universal rod system," which some guy on eBay sells from his shop in India. Then, it's going to be files, drills and cursing to put the whole thing together. That screw under the front of the matte box is going to end up being the attachment point. If it doesn't work, I'll ebay the pieces and just go out and purchase a proper matte box, like I should have done in the first place.
  4. My apologies for posting this yesterday under an inaccurate topic title. I picked up a used Chrosziel matte box that I'd like to adapt to my JVC DY5000. There is no model number on the matte box. It has two filter holders stamped 402-04, one of which rotates. The matte box has a mounting adapter stamped Dia 102, and it has an inside diameter of 102mm. See images: The local Chrosziel dealer says they've never heard of a 102mm clamp adapter. Maybe what they used to call 102mm is now called 104mm? Can anyone identify this matte box, so I know what it is I need to purchase to work with my camera? Thanks in advance...

The matte box has a mounting adapter stamped Dia 102, and it has an inside diameter of 102mm. There are 4 mounting nubs that the adapter fits over, then you turn it about 5 degrees to lock it into place. The JVC has a Fujinon lens S17X66BRM-SD that takes an 82mm screw in filter, and it has an 85 mm outer diameter. Should I be looking for a 102mm - 85mm step down ring? Or is the 104mm step down ring, which seems to be on every vendor's web site, what I need?
