Do you mean the Panasonic AJ-D700 DVCPRO Camcorder? There's nothing on an "AF-D700", most likely a typo.

another good site with explainations (and not so good mspaint explainations) on 35mm adapters http://www.dvdof.com in my opinion i wouldnt use the condenser in front of the ground glass. why? makes the 35mm image smaller, thus increasing the size of the grain visible. id rather have it the full 35mm size and have smaller grain.

Check your programs in your camera and see if you have anything with slow shutter (i.e. night mode, low light) . then control lighting by manually adjusting exposure.

Thor Labs!!!! I'm working on a mini35 project myself, and ive found precision ground glass at http://www.thorlabs.com they sell groung glass in 1" and 2" diameters or squares as well as a cut to size 100mm square. all in grits from 120 to 1500.
