  1. Hi! This autumn we're starting up a tiny production company in Norway (3 employees)... If we were to buy a production car, what would be the BEST when it comes to possibilities? I know it's a difficult question. Though still... I recently drove around filming in a Hyundai Santa Fe, and it was amazing. When you lay down the back seats, you get a completely flat surface, and so I mounted the tripod and filmed out the windows. However I guess a pick-up of some sorts would be even better, where you can take off the roof and be completely free. If there are any vehicles which could give a competitive advantage, that would also be cool (for instance I thought about a lift of some sort?). Also, if the car can double as a band vehicle with room for at least five and still loads of room, that would be great :) (I've been looking at some Chevy Vans too - incredible comfort for longer trips). Also if you have any good ideas for other possibilities with the right vehicle, that would be welcome :) Okay the post got kinda longer than what I wanted, though hopefully you get something out of it :) Thanks in advance!!
  2. I guess it has come to a point where you should be shooting on 35mm/Red/Red-equivalent to be able to critique properly. I thought the lighting was a bit harsh at times, I would've used more diffusion (inside at the janitor) so that people wouldn't get too hot/overexposed. But on the other side, maybe the lighting would be just perfect if shot on film/red? I think generally the lighting was moody, but was annoyed at the shortcomings of the 35mm adapter (never thought I'd say that) - sometimes being not very sharp, sometimes having "orangish" hot spots and sometimes seeming too heavy for the tripod (shaky). Let me know if any of my assumptions was wrong :) I think the lighting was better than the script/direction if that's a help. Best of all was the music (not necessarily the lyrics).
  3. This summer we were shooting a night exterior with some limited stuff. I remember one guy had to sit just outside the frame with a cell phone and light a detail in the corner. I'll be impressed if that shot ends up in the final cut :)
  4. Hmmm I tried to buy from www.filmtools.com but they don't ship to Norway (even though they ship to Sweden and Finland). Anyone knows of a good and not overly expensive net shop that also ships outside the EU or US? Thanks in advance
  5. Well not very much to ask about here, the topic says it all :) I just went to this workshop where I worked with "fluorescent green 4700" and "chrome orange" amongst others. I really loved the eye-poppiness those gels did to the video. Though I can't find them in rolls from Adorama.com Please link to the photo site that sells your favourite gels online (and ships internationally!) :) Thanks in advance :)
