‘The Lighthouse’ (2019) trailer
Rafael Rivera replied to Satsuki Murashige's topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
I watched The Lighthouse (digital projection) when it came to Silicon Valley and was absolutely mesmerized. The depth of emotions conveyed by a grayscale was overwhelming, and visually haunting. My congratulations to Jarin Blaschke and Robert Eggers. -
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Rafael Rivera replied to David Mullen ASC's topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
Congrats David on the Emmy! Just returned recently from Paris and your show was being advertised all over the Metro. -
David, Thanks for the update! I've already done the survey, very excited about the P30 and the reversal.

Y8 camera: C-mount lenses, barrel diameter, flange protrusion
Rafael Rivera replied to David Sekanina's topic in Super-8
Another camera would be fantastic! I'd like to mention that I have several lenses from my Baulieus but none will fit a a camera with a front protrusion, like a front rotating mirror, due to the Beaulieu side tubes. They can be removed but the lens gears are then exposed, not ideal. -

Which Super 8's have the interchangeable lens feature?
Rafael Rivera replied to gary szunyog's topic in Super-8
The new Kodak camera will accept C-mount lenses, a great proposition in my opinion. Looking forward to them. -
Tom, thanks for sharing the Lumière manual. Impressive the level of sophistication from the very beginning and the depth of knowledge.

Hateful Eight Experience
Rafael Rivera replied to Tyler Purcell's topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
Both prints I watched were truly beautiful as well (including the second one with the scratch over the 1st 10 seconds of the Overture). It was impressive to see how well film could withstand extreme lighting conditions, and yet return such visual complexity. Sound was superb on both prints. -
What a holiday season! Not only 2 great productions showing on film (Hateful Eight & Force Awakens) but now this. I hope this awesome Karma will keep coming! http://www.kodak.com/ek/us/en/Consumer/Products/Super8/default.htm?CID=go&idhbx=super8
