Salil Sundresh

My name is Salil (pronounced suh-lil), I'm a camera assistant and 3D rig technician who has recently moved to Los Angeles from Chicago. I am a versatile camera assistant, having served on all kinds of projects from 3D feature films to commercials to documentaries. Notable credits include work for Red Bull, Chevrolet, Toyota, Subaru, The Travel Channel and Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.

I regularly pull focus on a variety of formats-from the Canon 5D's razor thin depth field while shooting wide open to 3D rigs using Red One bodies and C-motion remote lens control systems.

Besides my on set experience, I have also repaired and assisted in engineering production equipment with some basic electrical knowledge. I have de-clicked a set of Nikon prime lenses (which I own). I have also worked with a third-party in developing a custom battery plate for my Canon 7D that allows running a Marshall monitor and an HDMI to component converter off a single 7.2v Panasonic battery pack (see my equipment page for more info). The plate also delivers power to usb devices and can power most 7.2v ultra compact cameras such as the Canon 7D but using a battery that lasts nearly 3 times as long as the stock batteries.

I am also a budding cinematographer & camera operator-shooting small commercials, short films, music videos, industrials, etc. I own a complete mobile production package, including a full cinema style HDSLR camera package, small Arri grip/lighting package and an audio kit.
