    I've been professional photographer since 2000, but realistically all my life. I have over 8 years of experience in the industry as shooter, over 4 years of photo retouching, 3 years of studio management and portrait sales. For the past year and half, I have been working full time as an image specialist for VHT doing photo editing, while also starting an independent freelance business as a portrait, wedding, and event photographer. I am skilled with Photoshop CS3, Lightroom, Portrait Strobe lighting, PC/MACs, both digital SLR and medium format film cameras, as well as post processing printing.<br />I went to college to study elementary education and I tried for 3.5 years struggling to be something I wasn't. After student teaching 8th grade physics, my motivation failed and I eventually realized what I love shouldn't just be a hobby. I ended up graduating college with honors in Photography and a Bachelor of General Studies degree. My far stretched lifetime goal is to become a director of photography of a major motion picture and/or a world renowned fashion photographer, photographing national ad campaigns and traveling the world. Presently, I would love to get involved in a contribution where my greatest strengths in creativity, hard work, and communication would be maximized in a challenging environment.<br /><br />My new hobby includes learning about Cinematography!

    Oh, and update: I have decided not to go to film school... I'm looking for something as a photo retocuher, photog or, studio manager in the LA area... but cinematoraphy is still my interest. :ph34r: What's in MY BAG?     Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself to the community here, and hopefully make some connections. I've been a pro photographer since 2000, last year starting my own freelance for portrait and events. I was thinking about attending film school this fall in Chicago... but I'm still trying to decide. I love photography, editing, and cinematography. I'm also located around the NW Chicago area...     wow john, I just saw your website and I'm fascinated. I dunno if this is the right place fot this kind of comment, but I love cinematography and want to learn more and get into the field.
