  1. Actually that is another question C Kennybrew could ask. Is there a good website for Directors? I haven't seen one and for that reason I just assumed that this was a good forum to get feed back from Professionals regardless of your craft. -jeff
  2. I agree with Brian Dzyak. That is your greatest asset. I would just add one more thing. When it comes to choosing people to suround yourself with; if extra on the day rate means you have a better Production Designer or Cinematographer that is in line with your vision take it. Comprimise in the camera loose the RED and go with the HVX200 or what ever it takes. Equipment doesn't make movies people do and the better the people the better the movie. Have a good show enjoy it. Remember what we do is fun. Kindest Regards, Jeff www.jeffsiljenberg.com
  3. You may have already done this but did you consider posting your need for an audition location on Craig's list? Kindest Regards -jeff www.jeffsiljenberg.com
  4. It's an ad on feature that works just like the Spot lights. It's an iris that just goes where a cookie would. If you don't have that then you can use black rap and be ok (note: if your using over a 1k leko you may want sheet metal). As far as other units, this Depends on how much of an actual spot you want. Pars and babies have relatively soft edges a leko can be very crisp or soft. Dealer?s choice. Best Wishes. -jeff www.jeffsiljenberg.com
  5. I'm starting to look for an HD monitor/tv for home use. Just wondering if anybody has any advice on what to look for or get. I kind of want to use it as gage for my reel as well. I'm nervous about making the jump from a CRT to well, anything else. At any rate that seems to be the way of the wind right now just wondering if I should stick to the CRT stuff or go with some sort of flat screen. -jeff www.jeffsiljenberg.com
  6. I would concentrate on the shiny surfaces. Try to get some Speculare hits in there. Light only what you need and what compliments the frame and your talent. Audience forgives a lot for pretty pictures. Continuity doesn?t matter too much from shot to shot. I'm also slow to use the Diva on budgets like this and even kino I'm a little slow. I'd much rather have an HMI. If space is not an issue I can always make a hard light soft can't really go the other way. If I where to use kinos, it would be the classic ones so I could take apart and shove in small spaces. As far as your theater spot light just a source 4 or kind of ellipse light. Oh one other thing If I where to use the 10 practicles I wouldn't replace it with regulare bulbs I would use something with a little spot to it MR-16 or even those screw in par 75 watt outdoor bulbs from GE. Best wishes have a good show and enjoy it. -jeff www.jeffsiljenberg.com
