  3. I found the solution via dvinfo.net. Thanks to Mitchell Lewis. Below is the solution. 1) In the Finder navigate to Macintosh HD>Applications>Final Cut Pro Additional Easy Setups>English. Scroll down and you'll see the XDCAM EX settings your missing (there are 10 of them) 2) Navigate to Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Final Cut Pro System Support>Custom Settings. So now you should have two windows open in the Finder. 3) Drag the 10 XDCAM EX files from Step #1 window into the second window Custom Settings folder. Launch Final Cut Pro and you should now see XDCAM EX settings in your Easy Setup menu. This should make things a lot easier for you.
  4. Yeah, I could. But having presets are just more of a convience. Greatly appreciate the help though.
  5. Yes, I know I must use the Log and Transfer or either Import and select XDCAM. I used it before and selected XDCAM and it opens up via XDCAM Transfer. However, before I import my footage, I usually always set up my sequence via Easy Setup (Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup). I shot this show in 720p, 24fps, and I use to be able to select that setting in the easy setup but can no longer do that.
  6. Hello everyone, I am trying to import my XDCAM (Sony EX-1) footage, but before I do so I need to choose the XDCAM easy set up. I have installed the latest XDCAM Transfer app and EX Clip Browser, and still no luck. When going to the Final Cut Pro Additional Easy Setups folder (Applications > Final Cut Pro Additional Easy Setups > English) I see the easy setups that I need but they do not show up in my FCP. How can I get this working? Help is greatly appreciated. Software Specs: Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 XDCAM Transfer 2.9.0 XDCAM EX ClipBrowser 2.00.00(209.409)
  7. Anyone know if they having an adapter like this specifically for the Sony EX-1? Something like this will be a great solution for myself. http://tinyurl.com/c9am5z
  8. I didn't have to buy the AC adapter, I realized that I already had one and plugged it in. The light works, and I answered my own question on does it hold a charge after you unplug it, in which it does not. You have to keep it plugged in in order for it to work. My next question is, what do you think will be the most convenient way for me to use it as a top light by using the on camera lithium battery pack? I've been researching just about everywhere for a solution. I stumbled across this Smith Victor fanny battery pack. Is this my best bet? Link is below. http://tinyurl.com/cwab65 I am really trying to figure this out by next week because I have a video shoot and will be mainly using this as my only source of light. I am not really trying to run the AC adapter into the Z50, and having the ac adapter plugged into an extension cord and being basically attached to a long cord the whole night.
  9. Hello everyone, I recently just purchased the Zylight Z50. I used it on a few sets, using Anton-Bauer power via the D-Tap battery cable. However, being that I own an EX-1, I was curious and wanted to know what power source is more convenient for my in studio sessions and touring/onstage usage. And I am somewhat confused. Am I able to just purchase the Worldwide AC Adapter, charge it for a few hours, take out the adapter and it will be fully charged and able to be used without having to keep the adapter plugged in the whole time filming? If not, I am guessing it will be charged only for a few hours of course. Not quite sure being that the instructions on powering the Z50 was somewhat confusing for myself. I will mainly be using this for a top light for my Ex-1. Thank you in advance.
  10. Hey everyone, I am interested in doing somewhat of a vh1 pop up video. I was unsure on how would I go about adding the pop up balloons. Would I just have to make the balloons in photoshop, and import the jpegs into the timeline in FCP? Or is there an easier way to do this straight from FCP? Thanks in advance.
  11. Haha! Same here. I never used AFX, but I love a challenge and trying new techniques. Can only learn from my mistakes and do better next go around.
  12. Oh okay. Guessing it would have to be done in front of the green screen. Any tips in post?
  13. I am interested in using this specific style but not sure on how to achieve it. Plexiglass maybe? Anyone have an idea on how this was done and how I could mimic it? Thanks in advance. http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/3060/7y67b0x1uz0.gif
  14. Thank you everyone. We finally was able to import it. Thanks for all the help. Greatly appreciate it! The solution was re-installing the plug in, and reimporting it through Sony XDCAM and it worked.
