  1. i feel that flv lights will be cheaper and then having a section of the house lit with tungsten lights will add the warm tones which might look good just keep a minus green handy if u use flv try making soft boxes and hanging them in the house
  2. i thought about that but i think the change between yellow and red would not be gradual im looking for more of a gradual change in color
  3. great thnx do u suggest me to pull process the stock too??

  8. hello im about to start shoot in 2 days time. ive acquired some 400T fuji cans for the shoot. any past experiences in handling this stock would be helpful to me. let me know how did this stock fare under lighting conditions. im planning to shoot indoors under studio controlled environment. thanks
  9. hello im about to shoot my diploma film we require a specific candle lighting effect the scene is such - its dark and the room is only lit by a single candle source. the candle is kept next to the bed and two people are inside a quilt. they form various formations and the shadows are thrown on the wall the shadows grow larger is size as the shot progresses even the light slowly turns out to be more red from yellow as the shot progresses ive thought of creating a cloth net with various patterns and rotating it in front of the light to get a slight candle light effect. the light will be placed low, so the shadows run up on the wall slowly i was planning to move the light closer to the bed, so that the shadows grow as far as making it warmer is concerned, i was planning to have 2 lights instead one with a red gel on it slowly the yellow light dims and the red light is brought up would this work? or would u suggest me something else to try? thanks

  11. hello i read about this article somewhere. u could chek it up in this site however, as far as i can recollect, there was this one good idea about how to light up reflections from tv. the idea was such.. we project the tv image on to a bounce board, and use it as a fill try it! should look good
  12. hello i was recently a part of the crew for underwater filming we shot on 2c arri, 35mm the crew for underwater cinematography was totally different they were certified scuba divers we used hydroflex gear to make the camera go underwater the lights we used was natural daylight from sun we also used a few HMI's from over the pool there were a few other handy kino's which could go underwater
  13. jus too be very sure you can use your spot meter to read the light on your screen the last shot i took of a cell phone was using 500T with a 4-5.6 exposure, it worked fine

  15. hello i was wondering on what color space is the test shoot shot on? did u apply any curve on it, and is the image corrected back to its original color space? thanks
  16. sounds interesting i would be thrown into such a situation very soon we will be shooting an interior room at night with no possible light source and that too in a real location and in day time im planning not to black out the windows as it makes it look like a studio instead im planning to use a lot of ND sheets to make the window atleast 3 to 3.5 stops down from the exposure so as to record a little detail. im planning to place net curtains on top of them. as far as room lighting is concerned, im plannin to have very little soft blue fill which is totally absent in the other end of the room where there is no window. however overhead rim lighting isnt too bad an idea cheers
  17. hello finally the film shoot got over sometime back we shot using ARRI CAM ST with Hawk lenses and Angulex zoom lens we used 5279 for the scenes which depicted the past and 5205 as well as 5219 for present shooting went on for 5 days, finished 14 cans mostly HMI's were used, 2.5k's as well as 4k for the scenes shot in the house as well in the hospital room sequences inside the hospital room we also used Kino's and daylight tubes to give it a bluish green feel to it the hospital lobby was lit using fluro lights placed on the ceiling with a half blue correction for it t give a bluish ambience fill was provided with day light tubes and key was provided with two 4-banks overall the shoot went well as we had planned it out to be telecine just came in, im waiting to grab a few screen shots cheers
  18. hello I am about to shoot a short film on 35mm using Fuji stock I would like to know if any of you have used Fuji before and if one should rate the stock differently I am shooting the outdoor with Fuji 250D and indoors with 400T i chose Fuji because im looking for a texture in the film as the new vision 3 does not provide that moreover im looking forward to having more of earthly tones as well as good skin tones
  19. Hello I am about to start shooting 'mai' from tomorrow onwards I would like to thank a few members first without whom my answers would have been left unattended and unresolved james Compton Gus Sacks David Rakoczy Brad Grimmett Chris Millar Chris Burke Pawel Saladziak Adrian Sierkowski and a few more (im sorry if I have left anyone else's name) the final decisions i took about the scene looking grainy is that i chose to shoot on 5279 (500T) stock. I am planning to shoot it normally keeping the correct exposure) for the non grainy sequences, I chose to shoot on Vision 3 500T stock with 250D 5205, which I plan to pull process it by 1/2 stop thank you all I will keep posting about the production process as and when I get time the shoot will commence on the 23rd, thats tomorrow and will go on till the 28th of this month cheers shubham
  20. hey is there any work online? any work which have been shot on 5279? thanks shubham
  21. hello i am about to shoot a film on monday and i did order for 5279 stock since we are looking for a grainier look. moreover this is to shoot a sequence which is from the past, which requires a grainy look how is this emulsion? is it grainy naturally? or should I push process it one stop?
  22. thnks i did order a few cans of 5205 and the remaining as 5279 (as i am looking for grains) cheers shubham
  23. how about not showing the side where you can see the face of the actor run over and then placing a dummy wearing the same thing on the other side with some blood packs which will burst when car runs over it? maybe it could work as well, giving some realism to the frame however if showing the run-over part is not important, then the reaction shots works the best, building up the suspense cheers shubham
  24. damn, is someone coming to mumbai soon? i need to buy the lens.. n u dont get it here!
