  10. Up for sale is a two camera 35mm filmmaking package. I am sadly selling it all off and heading out of the country for a 'yet to be determined' length of time. I'd like to keep as much of this together as I can so please send me your offers for all of it. My intent is to really unload so somebody is going to get a nicely discounted package and can sell off whatever they don't want and recoup some cost. If the response is not there, I will break the packages up. But first..here is what's included in the showcase showdown: First Camera Arriflex 35mm (4-perf) BL-2 camera (Academy ground glass with 1.85:1 inner marking), Jurgens video elbow with sony color video tap Three 400' Mags One 1000' Mag Prime lens blimp Matte Box Viewfinder Extension Speed Controller with cable Block battery with coiled cable Battery belt with charger Heavy duty cases for mags, camera, and lenses. 11. Has anyone done much handheld with an Arri 35 BL? I'm looking to build a shoulder pad to ease up the "flat-plate-on-shoulder-via-towel" method currently used. I'd appreciate any pictures (links) or descriptions of shoulder gear out there intended for this that works well. Thanks!
  12. I haven't seen them new, but I do see them show up on ebay. Some people will convert the motor power connection into a xlr for better strain relief and more cable availability.
  13. Has anyone tried using the backup LCDs you can get for car dashes with a video tap? I understand the quality wouldn't cut it for today's systems but how about older ones like my BL2 Jurgens tap?
  14. I didn't have too much luck finding new cheap camcorders with an analog composite video in, but if I step it up a bit to prosumer/DVX level there seems to be a lot more, dare I say , a plethora. (Plus Ill be able to record some scratch audio to boot!) I think a DVX100 is in the mix. Why hasn't their price dropped much since the HMC150 release? Also, to the DVX owners out there, can it record from (and be LCD displaying) a composite (RCA) video input with the XLR audio in? So, basically treating it like a recording deck some of the time. Any help is appreciated.
  15. I've got an Arri 35BL2 with a Jurgens video tap. I'd like to know what low cost camcorders (can be just miniDV) out there will record from a line video input. Why not just use a deck? I'd like to use it as a camera on the side. Also ideally I'd like to be able to use the camera's LCD as the monitor. One of the newer solid state models would be preferred but let me know what you think. Thanks! -Chad
  16. Looking to buy a square 3x3 filter, 85, that is hopefully in better shape than the one I have (which is not saying much) Possibly interested in other 3x3 filters you'd like to sell too. Let me know what you have! Thanks -Chad
  17. I have a 25fps constant speed motor for my IIC and want to shoot 24. Can I convert it over very easily or should I not monkey with it?
  18. Hi Ole, I'm planning on buying the same battery from the same place! I've got their charger already on order. I'm not sure what you mean by XLR because the Arriflex power connections are typically just two pins, their own type of connector. (I believe) Did you or a previous owner adapt an XLR to the IIC motor connector/cable? My battery connection had been changed to an XLR and I used a continuity tester on a multimeter to determine which of the XLR pins were being used for +/-. The specific XLR pins used were whichever ones the person who modified it decided to use. Or maybe I'm completely misinterpreting your question, -Chad
  19. My IIC door has a little play when closed and locked and I don't know how much is tolerable. Do the two door locking tabs wedge/pull the door tight or is a certain about of movement ok to have?
  20. Thanks everyone. Assuming there is no mirror interference, do you think I will be able to see the difference in vignetting just looking through the viewfinder if I use a 16mm lens on my 35 camera? I have a couple suspect cooke panchro lenses (28&32) that fit fine but seem slightly dimmer around the periphery compared to my 50mm wide open. I'm not sure if I can attribute it to the quality/condition or them being intended for 16mm. Their inner glass diameter is smaller (about half the diameter of the 50mm lens I have), but I've seen 35 lenses that have fairly small inner glass diameters. Thanks for your help, Chad
  21. I have a IIC with arri standard mounts. When shopping for lenses I'd like to know the easiest way to tell if it is a 35mm film lens from a 16mm since the mounts are the same. Can you tell by the size of the glass/hidden marks/some trait I don't know about? If there is no quick way, what is the more technical way? I have heard that wider angle lenses below 30mm (or so) will work for either. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
