achief a certain look
Pepijn Robben replied to Pepijn Robben's topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
Thanks everbody for your reply's I have send a mail to mark bliss and this is his reply to go straight to the chase I did not use bleach by pass, or pushed the stock, what you see is what happened in the camera, I used mostly 50 ASA daylingt stock for majority of day scenes, 250 D for late afternoon and mornings and 500T vision for the interior night shots. greetz pepijn ps. thanks Mark for this reply -

Hey David thanks for your reaction I just got one question is the low detail in the dark area's of the frame also done in the post or did they achieved that with the bleach bypass. My second guess is that they pushed greetz pepijn -

Hi iam a student and about to shoot a short film for school. For this short film i want to test different kinds of film stocks to see how they react and to do a key light test with them. Most of the time we are shooting with kodak vision 2 500t (16mm) here at school. But i want to work with other stocks to learn about there look. Does anyone know a cheap way to test different kind of filmstocks without having to buy a full roll of film for each stock and having it developed. Maybe with dia or something but i don't know if the stocks are the same for photography and film. I just want to learn more about the different kind of film available on the market so maybe my schoolprojects can have a better look in the future thanks in advance pepijn

first of all sorry for my bad englisch In a project i'am shooting next week we are using a miniature building with a scale 1 to 10 I have done a miniature shoot before but it was for a comedy so i didn't had to look real. This time it must look real.I have heard that if you shoot on a higher camera speed you can make it look more realistic. I also heard there is a formula so you can calculate wich camera speed to use on wich scale of miniature. Does someone know this formula? it would help me allot If someone got other tips on shooting with miniature i can use all the help i can get thanx

Thanx for this idea this certainly will help. But what kind of lightsource do you recommend to me to light the scene or is it enough to use natural light. I only once shot a scene outside so iam not that experienced we used a 4k cinepar for that scene. Do you think that would be enough for this scene or should i use a bigger one pepijn

Hi First of all sorry for my bad writing. I'am a belgium filmstudent and iam asked to be a DOP on a shortfilm. This shortfilm will be shot on a 16mm Arri SR Kodak's 500. I have shot some shorts but they where always shot in a small studio. In this shortfilm i have to light a forrest for lets say 100 square meters. We shoot for 4 days and the weather in belgium is not really stable so i cant count on that for continious light. The director has ask me to create a style like the green forrest in the house of the flying daggers http://www.sonyclassics.com/houseofflyingd...ailer-open.html He also wants to shoot a nightscene in the same forrest. I already have an idea for that but iam not sure its the right idea. i want to use a light balloon for that like the one in this link http://www.airstar-light.com/uk/produits/sm1/index.php3?id=1 My budget is a little flexibel but not to much Does anyone has suggestions for me on how i can achieve the lighting setup the director asked from me, to create some sort style like in the house of the flying daggers. And what kind of equipment i need to use to create this scene. I hope someone can help me on this one thanx for your time greetz pepijn robben
