  1. Pro8 in Burbank, California modifies the camera gates, rents them, and does HD transfers. http://www.pro8mm.com/ I used them to shoot videos for Beck's last album. I really liked the look. HD Super 8. :-)
  2. Doritos Superbowl Commercial Shot on Canon 5D 4th & Goal Click skip to get past the Doritos ad in the beginning. Shot on the 5D @ 400ISO in "Portrait" Mode
  3. As of last week on my Alexa jobs the dual sdi ports to raw recording capabilities were not yet implemented on the current release build (2.0). Not sure if the newer build allows for it yet. I think once it's up and running lots of people will be using it.
  4. Hey Joseph, I think figuring out where the film will ultimately be screened will help you with your decision. If you are going directly to bluray, smaller festivals (smaller projections), etc, shooting apple pro res 444 in LogC will be sufficient (don't shoot rec709). If you plan on projecting at the arclight you might need the extra resolution and latitude that raw gives you (arri or red). Either will benefit from a good colorist. Last week I did 2 shoots with the Alexa and 2 with the Red MX. Very different looks, workflow, etc., however properly exposed footage on either camera would make the latitude argument mute In my opinion. Good luck on the project. Thomas
  5. Working on back to back Alexa productions (recording LogC ProRes444 to SxS/monitoring out Rec709)and noticed that periodically there are duplicate folders created in camera. The only apparent difference seems to be the suffix letter (L or R) in the folder name. Anyone else seeing this, and/or know why its happening?
