  3. It seems that Kodak are going to make a 1000 asa 65mm stock for Chris Nolan for use on his next film "Dunkirk".
  4. This film is being shown in IMAX 15/70 at the BFI IMAX also a 70mm print is being screened at Odeon Leicester Sq London from 25th March. Does anyone know of other screenings in the same formats in other parts of the world ?

  8. He really should tell everyone what problems he said he had with the stock and lab problems ! I was at the BSC expo last friday and I can tell you the two film labs we have here in London are very very unhappy with his comments me to and I know Roger !
  9. I watched "The Hateful Eight " in 70mm at the Odeon Leicester Sq. where "Lawrence " had it's World Premier in Super Panavision 70 in 1962 and run for a long time there after that .
  10. As David has said you could always tell when a dissolve or fade was coming up because of the grain increase with the dupes .This was very obvious in the Ray Harryhausen stop motion work on his films even as a young teenager I could always tell a Monster was about to appear because the grain would increase . Would have been better if all the live action had been duped as well to match . So all the same amount of grain you would soon get used to that .
  11. Backlit always looks better it's just a fact look around when you are just walking up a street .Backlit gives more depth for one .
  12. The trouble with "The Martian" is the Wadi Rum locations look like just where it is and not Mars . Kept expecting "Lawrence ! to pop up and rescue him .
  13. Sorry a P.S. to my post the Fotochem print was beautiful and a photo-chemical one at that only for the 70mm prints as far as I understand .
  14. I have just come back from a faultless screening at the Odeon Leicester Sq, London. Correct masking all around beautiful scratch free print blacks and whites pristine loved the unmotivated lighting of Bob Richardson ASC sound was superb , the film is overlong .I think Mr Tarantino needs One a strong story editor to pare down his scripts and Second a even stronger Producer to enforce that ! Must admit it was better than I expected
  15. Lots of TV have been shot anamorphic just because its nice to get the flares and Bokha . " Vikings" shot in Ireland has used anamorphics for certain scenes great with the way it is shot lots of candles and hot windows .
  16. All of the above +"Deliverance" sad day .
  17. I have my ticket for 11th Jan. but really having second thoughts if I am going to bother travelling into central London to see it now . I have never liked any of his films this one sounds like it's going to even worse then anything he made before , he is so much up his own arse !
  18. I am no fan of any of his films . I just want to watch a film shot in Ultra Panavision it will be the first time for to many years to remember .
  19. I am seeing it Odeon Leicester Sq. 11th Jan . I have seen every Ultra Panavision 70 film projected in that format apart from " Mutiny 0n the Bounty " Most on a Cinerama screen apart from " The Fall of the Roman Empire " so will be interesting to see how this looks on a flat screen !
  20. Looks awful , Cuba is a very colourful place this makes it look flat and drab !
