  1. I have a Bolex Reflex camera and am planning on doing some work to the inside of the camera. I was wondering if the sprockets and film gate are interchangeable for non-reflex cameras to reflex 16mm cameras. Any ideas?
  2. Hello. I have reciently purchased 2 Bell & Howell Filmo 16mm cameras and want to convert one to super 16. I am not worried about realigning the turret as I will be using lenses that will cover the difference. I know that I have to grind the gate a little more than 2mm but I think I also have to grind down a part of the sprockets opposite of the teeth (I believe it is the sound stripe part of the sprockets). My question is how much do I have to grind and why exactly do I have to do this if the sprockets are single perf and thus use single perf film? What would happen if I didn't grind the sprockets opposite of the teeth? Also, are there any clear instructions on how to do convert a filmo to super 16? Thanks.
  3. Hello, I am wondering if I can use my Canon Rebel DSLR camera as a light meter if I set the shutter to 1/24. Would this give me an accurate reading that translates to motion picture film? In case it's relevant, I am using a Bolex reflex with Canon FD lenses. Thanks.
  4. Fantastic. Thanks for the responses. Joshua
  5. I am currently underway in converting a bolex to super 16. Grinding out the filmgate seems to be the most simple of the entire process and then things get more complicated as the turret has to be remounted. My question is, if I use canon FD lenses via an adapter, will I have to adjust the lens turret at all, or will the lenses be able to fill the frame without any adjustment. My lenses are 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm Canon FD lenses. Thanks.
