    Cinematographer
  1. Wim Wenders and Robby Müller Jim Jarmusch and Robby Müller David Cronenburg and Peter Suschitzky (Son of Wolfgang Suschitzky, also a great Cinematographer: the original "Get Carter") Coen Brothers and Roger Deakins (Most likely the ultimate collaboration between Director and Cinematographer)
  2. Can't leave it at five so I will go to eleven. Robby Müller (Paris Texas/To Live and Die in L.A./Repo Man) Michael Chapman (Taxi Driver/Raging Bull) Tonino Delli Colli (Once Upon a Time in the West/The Good, the Bad and the Ugly/Once Upon a Time in America) Vilmos Zsigmond (The Deer Hunter) Gordon Willis (Klute/ The Godfather I & II/ The Parallax View) John Alcott (All Kubrick) Chung-hoon Chung (Oldboy) Barry Sonnenfeld (Blood Simple/Millers Crossing) Emmanuel Lubezki, (Y tu mamá también/Children of Men) Darius Khondji (se7en, Delicatessen) Peter Suschitzky (History of Violence)
  3. The Lee color grads included in the auction are saying enough.
  4. A producer showed me the 140 or so responses she got from an ad she placed on craigslist for a DP position for a upcoming indie feature not that long ago. You guys would be shocked to learn what some of your colleagues are willing to work for: from ridiculous low rates (think PA on a super low budget indie), to offering complete RED camera, light and grip packages for free. Very depressing.
  5. Barry Sonnefeld: from porn to Coen Brothers art-house movies (Blood Simple and Raising Arizona) to major block buster director, he must have an interesting story and was a great dp. A working DP would be Emmanuel Lubezki; but any other great DP would do just fine, so much to learn.
  6. Jan de Bont in Lethal Weapon 3 as a camera man.
