Greeting from Sydney Australia. I am about to purchase a nice Eclair ACL series II and everything is checking out except for one thing . The darken area within the circle marking. This camera has the LED 7 metering system and wanted to check with other owners if this is completely normal ?? It makes focusing really hard since it covers such a large area.

I have removed the kipontik viewfinder and looked through and can still see it . Is the darken area part of the metering system ?? Can it be removed or is it some how part of the ground glass ?? I need some sort clarification before I purchase . Any help or advice would be so appreciated .

Has anybody had their Bolex cameras upgraded with the Laserbrighten Screen which Bernie O'Doherty at Super16inc offers?

It seems really tempting for my Bolex RX5 with 13x viewfinder. Compared to shooting on my Beaulieu R-16 the Bolex is really hard to see in low light.

Any comments or thought would be great.

Hi

I am currently using the Bolex kit as shown above. I find it very straight forward to use on my RX5 with 13x viewfinder. I have the anamorphic matched to the 26mm f1.1 marco switar. I decided going down this path to avoid some of the problems associated with super 16 conversion. Keep look at ebay, they do pop up.
