  1. I haven't personally seen the Van Diemen re-housings but based on the pictures, they've placed the iris gear close to the front of the lens which, as any assistant will tell you, is going to be very inconvenient if you're going to be using a set of these in combination with other lenses which have the more common iris gear placement closer to the mount. It means moving lens motors all the time, although if you work on sets without remote focus or remote iris then this isn't an issue – or if these are the only lenses on a job.
  2. Try 6" diopters. Not the most common but might cover better.
  3. My SmallHD DP7 Pro OLED monitor is for sale. Screen surface is in excellent condition (always had a screen film, but I've removed it). Includes 2x D-tap power cables, 1x 2-pin Lemo power cable (Arri standard), 1x 4-pin male Hirose power cable (in a techflex snake with two included BNCs that you could take apart if you want), and neoprene hood (with replacement 3D-printed braces). Has some minor Alexa frameline burn-in as is common with OLEDs but this is around the periphery and is faint. Ships in a yellow Pelican 1400 case! Asking $900 OBO. 4. If the other lens is a 75mm Master Prime, then you would have the same near and far focus point; with another make of lens like a Cooke 75mm, however, you would have slightly different results because the entrance pupil is different. I don't think it would be dramatically different. A +1 diopter would still put your infinity at 1 meter in front of the diopter, theoretically.
  5. Price drop: $3300 for 1TX, 3RX Will also consider breaking it up: $1900 for 1TX and 1RX $2600 for 1TX and 2RX
  6. Hi, selling my Teradek Bolt 300 kit, 1TX & 3RX, and all components are dual SDI/HDMI. Includes: 4x D-tap to Lemo 2-pin power cables 2x AC adapter 2x 1/4-20 to stand adapter Asking $3700 USD. Located in Toronto, Canada and can ship anywhere.
  7. I don't know if the older Arri units can be upgraded to White Radio, which is what you need for it to talk to an Alexa.
  8. The Coldplay Live 2003 concert material was shot on Super 16mm, with reportedly 9 cameras. The DVD looks pretty good. I'm sure there are more examples of "recent" concerts shot on film.
  9. It's a Newman air head! http://www.newmanairhead.com/
  10. You can absolutely use any generic QM71 or QM91 batteries. It doesn't make sense to recell original ones, and they're not recell them anyway since the casing is sealed. Generic batteries are so cheap, you can get them for less than $20 a piece. I mean, even the Preston-supplied ones are generic.
