  1. Hey guys, Anyone one has any experiece working with the Angenieux Optimo 45-120 Zoom Lens on an Alexa? In past experience I know the optimo zoom lenses seem to compliment the ultras Primes well but has anyone had any experience working with Angenieux glass with the cooke S4s on either the Alexa or the Red?Will be on a shoot soon without the possibility of a test and I Have never had the chance to pair the cookes with an optimo Zoom so any help or advices would be very appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi all, I'm planning on shooting a short film on S16 soon and I have managed to get my hands on a few cans of Eastman EXR 200T 7293 as well as Vision 200T 7274 film stocks. They're new cans,(not short ends), but its stock from 2004. It has been kept well. My question is what the main difference between the 2 film stocks. I understand that the 7274 was brought on to replace the 7293. Been doing some research on it and I believe that the Lord of the Rings trilogy( although I read that at the time 7274 was out but they chose to stick with 7293), city of god and Little Budha by Vitaro Storaro (I think) was shot on the 35mm equivalent, 5293. 7274 was used in Factory girl although I am not sure exactly for which parts of the movie since the used quite a number of film stocks on that film. I will be shooting the first part of the film with Vision 3 but the aesthetics of the film as discussed with the director requires a somewhat dated and "punchier" look. Its a question of either or and will have to choose either the 7274 or the 7293. I know the magic word is test but due to the availability of the camera and the budget that is unfortunely beyond me. Been also trying to get my hands on the "Pictorial Spreadsheets"(with varring exposure values within the frame), if thats what they call it but can't seem to find it online, just the technical spread sheets. Any advise would be great. Thanks.
  3. Hi Daniel, I currently also assiting a DP on a Public Service announcement which is using this type of testimonial style lighting. I've seen this series of ads/PSA by One.org. It seems that in terms of lighting it is quite minimal and would probably include just one light source (almost frontal above the camera) through a softbox or a diffusion frame. But I am guessing its something you already could tell. Eitherways, but perhaps someone else who have more experience with lighting for testimonials would give u a better insight at trying to achieve the look you are going for. Regards Darius Shah
  4. Hi all, Anyone have any ideas as to the technical specifications for the Louis Vuitton Commercial? Camera, lenses and film stock? Its pretty visually impressive this particular commercial and it does seem that Bruno Aveillan made use of alot of incamera tricks for some shots i.e vaseline smeared on the lens, but I can not be too sure. So any thoughts of any kind would be great. Thanks. The Commercial can be viewed at the link below.

  6. Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for a post such as this. Shot a short film on the Panasonic AVC 151 which uses the SD card. The files for one of the days was accidentally reformatted and there was no back up. Is there a way to recover the lost files or is a reshoot the only other option? I have been trying various data recovery softwares and nothing except CardRecovery 5.30 is able to scan for the missing files but since i cant preview them i am not sure if I shld be purchasing the software. Thank you in advance for any help or Advice..!
