  1. i think the one you recommended might be the one i choose actually. what if i was working with a $250 budget?
  2. thanks. I took your advice along with others and took out my FB and Twitter links. I'm going to leave my equipment on there for now because i do some stills work (ex: the season 5 Army Wives premiere party), i just got hired to shoot some web and demo videos for an iPad app, and i also have rented it out. however i am trying to add to my website so it isnt so naked. and yeah im not expecting people to know much of what i worked on except Army Wives (Lifetime) and Swords (Discovery). Angel Camouflaged was a $5 Million feature. I'm hoping people will notice that people hire me multiple times. and some of those names on my resume have credits you have heard of so that may work to my advantage.
  3. here is my resume and imdb page. judging by those would you hire me? what for? how can i improve my resume? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3680177/ http://www.jamesheyward.com/resume/ thanks for any and all advice.

    Tripod

i need a recommendation on a good tripod for my Nikon D7000 and redrock kit. I've been looking at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/502679-REG/Matthews_M_25_M25_Tripod_System.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/537863-REG/Pearstone_VT_2500B_VT2500B_Video_Tripod_System.html i want something with a fluid head, a 50mm ball, and quick release plate i can attach to the redrock kit. i can spend up to 200. I've never heard of pearstone, but matthews I'm familiar with. i just want a good name brand set of legs.
  5. well im on the east cost. but i don't know where you plan on shooting this. http://www.jamesheyward.com/resume/ is my resume. also if you found someone else id also be a great scripty
  6. i use a Nikon D7000 it is very affordable and you have full manual control in video mode. i love it.
  7. I've thought if having my wedding shot on 35 the blocking and rehearsal would be done the night before. It would be multiple camera.
  8. just my two cents. i went to a two year tech school in charleston, sc and had almost all my credits transfer to SCAD. i know of a few of their students working in the industry. but tons of people come out of my school and get work. some even drop out because of work. we have army wives shooting here full time and most students end up working on that.
  9. yeah i know about all the adapters i just couldn't find anyone using any of them with that camera and i've never used one myself.
  10. im shooting a short that i had helped write and need advice. i can shoot on a dslr and get the 35mm dof but my camera is moving a lot and i don't want it to look like jello. i also have access to a Sony HDR FX1 and a bunch of PL mount lenses from school. is there an adapter i can use for that camera to use pl lenses?
  11. I'm not really worried about the unsteady work I'm more worried about is it worth going to scad knowing that work isn't steady. I love being on set nothing comes close to the money I make, the fun I have, or the friends I make.
  12. i got into SCAD as a transfer student i dont know if its really worth the money, although they have accepted a lot of my credits (3 classes shy of a junior). currently im in a two year film school in charleston, sc. i've worked on a feature titled angel camouflaged as a set pa and the discovery channel show "Swords: Life on the Line". Other than that i've done tons of short films. I know the work isnt steady so im really scared to spend that much on school. Advice? resume is here. http://www.jamesheyward.com/resume/
  13. well you went to scad. hmm i was actually considering going there just to get a 4 year degree. do they not give you opportunities to work on films? cause i know savannah has more opportunities than charleston. im almost done with the 2 year associates at trident in charleston, sc. they do teach about what you were questioning. ive even gotten a ton of on set experience. i just worked on a feature called Angel Camouflaged. and the tv show "Swords: Life on the Line" ive also worked with a great DP David Insley (the wire, cry baby, hairspray). now i hope to be on army wives for season 4 as a camera intern.
  14. the camera (i have all the original cables, battery, charger, etc) http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...ductId=11034000 the mic http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...tNumber=ECMHST1 the case http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...ductId=11037562 with 1 GB sony memory stick fisheye conversion lens green screen (10x12) and a hot shoe to xlr adaptor to use mics with an xlr cable (i dont know the model number)
