nice, i was communicating with this person (i also live in the bay area) but he wanted 5k for it and i declined. I recently got an Arriflex BL-3 for MUCH less that what he wanted.

Im looking at this lens to use with my Arriflex BL-3 but im not sure if it will work for Super 35mm , does anyone here have experience working with one of these?

I purchased an Arriflex BL-3 with a color video tap and a huge heavy monitor, is it possible to connect a small HD (or non HD) small LCD monitor to that video tap adapter?

I just purchased a 16mm camera and i need film, i was checking out bh.com and the prices for 100' of 16mm seemed too high compared to unexpired film on ebay. What do you guys recommend?

Hey so i just checked out a clip on arri16s.com with the lens on the auction and it looks pretty good. How come the clips are widescreen? were they cropped or can this camera be modded into a super16?

thanks for the info. I think super16 is more important to me so ill have to keep saving up a bit more then. As far as the scoopic i found this video shot with it . Is this scoopic camera super16 or just 16mm? i found some on ebay and seem quite affordable.

hello, I am looking for a 16mm camera and would like to spend up to 1500 for it. I have been working with dslrs and DV an frankly i feel i cannot call myself a filmmaker unless I have worked with a film camera. As far as film knowledge i mostly shoot with a hasselblad 500cm and have my own darkroom at home so i figure the speed of film is similar with filmmaking as it is with photography. What do you guys recommend ? i was looking at this auction on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/330815659766?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 but the lens seems to be not well liked from other sites i found

i think im better off finding some guys who go to school for cinematography and paying them to shoot my stuff.

an update: So after much research for the 16m, it looks like i would be spending an extra $300 (not including a tripod) or so for the rest of the equipment needed so I called the seller and told him that it wasn't going to work out for me. The guy is an hour away from where i live and driving that long to see something that i dont know much about is a bit crazy imo. He did tell me that he also had two 16mm handheld bolex cameras that were cheaper if i were interested... thanks a lot for all the information guys, im definately going to be sticking around because i plan on shooting on film someway or another next year.

Tim, i am saint seiya from the p2forum. I called the seller last night and i told him i didnt have enough money and i told him how i would be using it and he said i could have it for 400. Thanks a lot for your info i will be calling him before I leave for a little more info like the brand of the lenses and as far as the magazine, he said thats how its been stored, without the mag.

Thanks for the info!, As far as the film magazines, I understand that the 16M can use 200f or 400f magazines. About how many recording minutes are each of those mags?

Hello, I am new here and got some questions about the Arri 16m camera. I saw an ad on craigslist for a 16M for $400 with three lenses of my choice (hes got a few he says; 10mm, 35mm,50mm, 80mm), the guy selling it told me the camera is working but has not been serviced in years and has been stored away in a house. He also told me the camera does not come with a magazine. I have been making short films on video for years and want to move into film and although i do not know much, from some research ive done , the camera seems to be a great little camera for 16mm and from footage ive seen of the 16s (i havent found any of the 16m) the quality looks great. Do you guys think this is a good deal or do better deals pop up on ebay ?
