  1. Daniel - contact me off-forum and I'll send you a set of good basic settings for the 900R courtesy of Alan Roberts ex-BBC. Clive North UK - Lighting Cameraman clivenemail-digger@yahoo.co.uk
  2. Stephen - no it won't read them...... Clive North Lighting Cameraman (UK)
  3. Hi Gautam - you can in fact insert the viewfinder display to you field monitor using the HD/SDI out on the 900R. To do so though the camera needs the software upgrade version 1.20 and FP version 1.02 which came out in May 2007 and appears on the camera menu as 'video mix menu' on page 37. The viewfinder and/or timecode can be displayed via the HD/SDI out any time the camera is not actually recording - it appears and disappears before and after each take. Hope this helps Best regards Clive North Documentary Lighting Cameraman (UK)
  4. Would anyone know of a small soundproofed studio in LA (minimum 25ft x 15ft) suitable for shooting some interviews Wed - Friday (7-9th Nov). This due to hotel suite booked by production being far too noisy (by LAX!). Assistance gratefully received.... Clive North Lighting Cameraman (UK)

Stephan - If you'd like to send me your e-mail address to info@clivenorth.co.uk I'll send you some set-ups for film looks relevant to 35 and 16mm film to get you going. Best regards, Clive Clive North - Documentary Lighting Cameraman E-Mail: info@clivenorth.co.uk Web: www.clivenorth.co.uk
  6. I'm finding that when shooting progressive on HDCam - a little filtration goes a very long way. Compared with shooting say DigiBeta and using an 1/8 or 1/4 ProMist to 'take the video edge' off the picture, shooting HDCam in progressive mode with a film gamma should provide all the 'softness' one needs. Anything else can be taken care of in the grade.
  7. Hi Jason - I have a 750 here in the UK and the way I would look at it is the F900 is the better camera certainly for transfer to film for large screen projection (George Lucas seems to know what he is doing after all!) The 750 is excellent for 25p for television and I can see know reason to go for the more expensive option in that case. Hope this helps, Clive North
