Google's new unified messaging system, Hangouts, is pretty cool. I'm glad that they got rid of the redundancy between Google Talk and G+ chat.

That wasn't keyed. It was practical. You can tell because at :31, you can clearly see aliasing from the phone's screen in the close-up. I shot a commercial for Fuel TV's iPad app, and we shot it practically, too. It works fine, but you just have to expose for the screen (we dimmed it all the way down first) and light your actors to match. -
It seems like rental houses are just giving equipment away for nothing these days... granted, it's mostly all beat up and missing pieces, but still!

The owner of the house we were shooting in Yesterday had two pet ocelots... And I thought that was only ridiculous enough to be a running gag on Archer.

Id's it sketchy that the art department used real tempered glass to cover the floor for our break-in scene? Maybe I should bust out the knee pads just in case I slip...

If you want a 16x9 aspect, then shoot in 5K HD; the 5K FF option is 1.90:1, I think.

Nikon finally fixed the 95% output on the D600. I can finally record to ProRes without needing to blow up every shot!

I wouldn't throw the DNG files away, but yes, the ProRes 4:4:4 files are excellent for grading; and you can use them for your masters.

People take things way too seriously. Google decided to celebrate Caesar Chavez's birthday with a Google Doodle today instead of an Easter doodle. I read a CNet article that was detailing some right wing pundits' disgust on Google's choice not to put a religious view on their site.
