  1. Hello Rasmus, this might be what you're looking for: http://www.rowa-mechanik.com/Camera-Support/Accessory-Bar
  2. I don't know if you're already familiar with it, but take a look at http://www.cameraassistantmanual.com/ . It's a companion website to the book "The camera assistant's manual" by David Elkins where you'll find all kinds of forms, checklists, etc. related to the camera department. Highly recommended!
  3. We'll be using a camera with a S35 sized sensor, I personally have no idea how it will be released.
  4. Hello all, I'm about to assist on a project where the DP and director want a shot where they'll start with an extreme close-up of an eye and end in a close-up of the character. I'd like to know what the best option for this type of shot would be: 1) use a long zoom combined with a diopter and zoom out 2) use a prime with a diopter and travel out. keeping things in focus will be challenging to say the least 3) use a macro lens with a diopter and travel out. again, focus We're aware that the actress will have to be lit to a deep stop if we're going to travel, and that we're likely to cast shadows from us/the camera on her face. A headbrace will also be used. Since this is a student film, budget is a consideration. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
  5. A tip one of my former teachers gave me is to turn the gate away from the wind, to avoid dust etc. to be blown inside the camera. It might sound obvious, but it's still something to keep in mind.
  6. Shooting 4K on the Red equals shooting Super 35 format-wise, 2K would equal Super 16. See the attachment for a comparison between focal lengths for different formats. Hope this helps.
