  1. It's important for the advancement of this medium of visual storytelling that more professionals such as members of this forum, understand what makes for compelling 3D movies. With that in mind, here's some Critique from a 3D specific POV of recent 3D Films. Avengers: (Avengers of Stereoscopic 3D) http://realvision.ae/blog/2012/05/avengers-of-stereoscopic-3d/ John Carter: (2D to 3D's Uncanny Valley?) http://realvision.ae/blog/2012/03/john-carter-stereoscopic-3d-conversions-u... 2. A new book, Think in 3D: Food for Thought for Directors, Cinematographers and Stereographers has been published and is out on Amazon. It has received a fairly good welcome from some of Hollywood's leading 3D moviemakers. Do check it out: The amazon link for the book is here. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1470150778 A book preview is also here: http://amzn.to/HEaTeR Best Regards Clyde DeSouza (Author). If the moderators see fit, I'd love for this thread to be moved to the Cinematography Books section.
  3. Hi, I tried posting this in the Books section of the forum, but I don't have posting privileges there, so I thought I'd share here. My book THINK in 3D is now out on Amazon. Kindle version is available (can also be read on an iPad or iPhone with the free Kindle app) http://www.amazon.com/Think-in-3D-ebook/dp/B007DK92J0 Hopefully it provides food for thought on directing and composing a good stereoscopic 3D frame, but more importantly on the art and science behind this new medium of visual storytelling. Next week the paperback version will be up. Do take a look, Clyde
  4. Hi all, I'm new to the board, and just registered to post a reply to this thread. Here's an article that deals specifically with what a Stereographer does, how his/her job is as important to a 3D movie as the other 'Director' level profiles are, even if there is no claim for opening screen credits. Would like to hear your comments on it as well: http://realvision.ae/blog/2010/08/the-6-job-functions-of-a-good-stereographer-in-modern-3d-movies/ Kind Regards, Clyde
