  1. My latest work with a director... just a short low-budget students film shot on 35mm FUJI ETERNA400 with sepia 3 filter on camera. Any comments on my work are welcomed ;) http://vision.rambler.ru/users/vgikfest/1/4/ p.s. unfortunately it's without english subtitles, but I hope I'll do it soon
  2. Please have a look and write your opinion on my first commercial as a DP. http://video.mail.ru/bk/betacam/496/497.html
  3. Ок, my question was not quite correct.... I meant that what kind of CTB should I use to make my lighting source seem white on the screen when I use Tiffen sepia 2 on camera? Of course I will do some film tests, but may be some of you have any on-set experience.
  4. All this is easy to preview though by using the filter on a digital still or video camera. Precise color rendition won't be the same as with film, but you'll get an idea of what to expect. Thanks a lot, but there is one more question appeared. I've just rewatched The Last Man Standing movie and noted that mostly in shooting interiors the DP put a bit of cold color in a shot to make some color contrast to the whole sepia tone. So the question is ... what color tempreture should I use to make such slightly cold tints?
  5. I'm a cinematograher student and its my first time shooting with sepia filter. Unfortunately I won't have a chance to use a DI process so I wanted to ask experienced pros about some tips on shooting in sepia. My stock is Fuji Eterna 500. Thanks in advance
  6. I'll ask friends from this faculty and write you back all the information I can get. I think that will be during next week. See you. Anastasia
  7. In animation and multimedia department they collect only 10 or 15 students once in three or four years that's why I think that the next collection will be not earlier than in 2007.
  8. Hi, I study at VGIK for free as I'm russian but as far as I know foreign students have to pay about 10000USD a year (2 semesters) and this price includes all aspects of studying (camera equipment, film, processing etc. ). All you need is to know russian (there is a special one year course before admittance) and to pass all the entrance exams. If you want to know more precisely about terms and conditions ask your questions and I'll try to find it out for you. Anastasia
  9. That's really great!!! Such a detailed scheme! I'll try to follow it, THANKS. Anastasia
  10. I always try to shoot wide open when possible in order to reduce DOF, make all necessary camera settings to make picture softer or more film-like, but I believe that if I could only connect 35mm prime lens (or even DigiPrime) with my DigiBeta the result will be a far cry from what I have now with my broadcast canon zoom. Anyway thank you all for your remarks. Anastasia
  11. Thank you all for the precious information! I'll take it into consideration and as soon as I make the reel I'll post it here so you could judge. Anastasia
  12. Hi everybody, I decided to make a small show reel, but I don't have experience in such things. (in Russia it is not popular way of promoting yourself). I slightly imagine how to do it but any ideas and advices from you will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Anastasia
  13. Hi, thanks for the advise. I think I'll stop my choice on ARRI super16 SRII. The only thing is where to buy a used ARRI in fare condition for a reasonable price? Anastasia
