As JB mentioned you can try some regular household LED or a Ring light kit might work for you https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Dimmable-Lighting-Portrait-Shooting/dp/B0784SSRZS/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2IUHSHKAU2TI3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.YxZACVePuI4fPU6rei1dVVPAGg4dEZn7LPeyF6Kn0giIatfpp1tOZv5wnbUfv-ol5v-4thQBUwnuSBQDUu-zzIrvDDRtFXHYOP8Oah9NiQsyRNluKZArGaJ6iUSsTuKEQmgsENZf_F1z-C10_1D5bn_NXKw3TkKcx9aIkvjDYQoWrNnF3x1AVO57lZvbT7fmSdv0bQ6l-2F9UwMV-qo5Jmjs1kbxbkr0ZRO1ZPSJjiY.Za3gF8hKjof3hNYeuF9OM-J6ZmBk5K57n7AbYMuWAhI&dib_tag=se&keywords=LED+ring+light+photo+lights&qid=1705438981&sprefix=led+ring+light+photo+lights%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-8

Direct Flash style lighting for film and video
Ed Conley replied to Donovan Wilson's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
I think he wants the lighting look of on camera flash/strobes not the actual fx of strobe/flash. -
You don't need to tape the gel. Just use a spray bottle application and then you can Art department the distressed windows. peel off the gels after the shoot. here is an example using ND gel.

Traditional Light meter really not ideal for LED lights?
Ed Conley replied to Wenqi Wei's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
From the linked article: 'If you’re a keen gardener, then you’ll probably want a PAR meter instead. They’re more expensive, but they specifically measure the wavelength of light needed for plants to photosynthesize." the article is directed at Grow operations ? -
The Perfect Interview Key Light - Godox F600Bi
Ed Conley replied to Tim Tyler's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
Yes, V Mount batteries work but... Aputure 600 series requires 2 14v batteries just to get 1/2 Power. -

at 600 watts , can't see V Mount batteries being that useful though. 240/300wh batteries are $$$ and you'll get less than an hour of run time. same problem Aputure has on their lights even though they accept V Mount batteries. -

They come in white too- at least here in the US. I don't know the stop loss but they do diffuse the light quite nicely. Unfortunately no examples but one shoot had a canopy set up with a white tarp and we just used it and shot under it. Been awhile so can't remember much about specs and such.

Adam, those are all valid lighting points but the question really is, as Alex mentioned, will going "green" eliminate Tungsten? No one is discussing getting rid of a light because LED is "better" It seems as though germany is certainly is looking to eliminate power hungry Tungstens. It certainly is an interesting future.

The additional cable in Nanlite Forza 500
Ed Conley replied to Abdul Rahman Jamous's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
It goes from the Power adapter to the battery unit- it is the DC connection> If you re not using batteries you need to plug the DC connection from the AC Power adapter into the battery Holder. * 9. DC power plug: For connecting the DC power plug to power the lamp. 10. AC power input socket: For connecting the AC power cable to supply power to the adapter. https://en.nanlite.com/uploads/files/USER MANUAL/Forza 500 USER MANUAL (NANLITE).pdf- 1 reply

best screen for replacement protective screen
Ed Conley replied to Johanan Pandone's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
Hi Johanan, it has been so long since we have sent out DP lights I don't recall. I'm sure the front diffusion on the softbox will contain the exploding bulb, if it happens. When we were renting out the DP lights regularly I only experienced of one example of an exploding bulb in about 5 years. The client did not tighten the stand riser knob, riser dropped and when it collapsed the shocked caused the bulb to explode. Guess what they decided not to use? Exploded bulb pieces landed on a leather couch
