  1. This is a free update for all v3.0 users, and a demo version is available at http://www.antlerpost.com/plugins It includes more burn-in options, including frame-count, and options to add or remove the camera's 'film matrix'. Coming soon, a new plugin for adjusting exposure and white-balance on LogC material. This will be a separate plugin, to be used in conjunction with the LUT plugin, but customers who have purchased both will receive a 'combo' LUT plugin as well at a later date. To enquire about the exposure/wb plugin please email plugins [at] antlerpost [dot] com
  2. Pure coincidence. I know Steve, but am not related to him. For those who want to try my (sadly no longer free) LogC LUT plugin for FCP I have now added a PayPal donate button at http://www.antlerpost.com/plugins and also a downloadable demo version.
  3. I am afraid I have to announce that my plugins are no longer free. When I first developed my ALEXA LUT plugins for FCP, I saw them only as a stop gap solution. However they have proved more popular than I had imagined, and there is now a demand for an update to support the ALEXA 3.0 firmware. I cannot afford to keep developing these plugins and giving them out for free. I have therefore decided to ask people for a voluntary PayPal donation of $30(US) to support the ongoing development of the plugins. If you do not wish to donate, you are of course free to continue to use my existing plugins, although the web link to download them will soon cease to be active. People who donate will receive an update I have written which uses ARRI's 3.0 curves and has some other changes including the option of a colour matrix as well as the saturation slider. It is important to note that this is NOT the actual matrix used in camera (as ARRI does not publish this information) but is my own matrix which I feel better approximates the in camera Rec709 colour processing than a simple saturation boost. I am designating this release as beta, because it has not been tested yet on a wide range of 3.0 footage. Those who receive it can send me feedback on how it works for them, and how they might like it changed, and they will receive an updated release version as soon as it is ready. Future updates to the plugin in its current form will be free to donors, as will versions of it which I have in development for REDlogFilm, S-Log and others. I have started work on a more sophisticated version of the plugin using the FXPlug architecture (32-bit float processing and GPU acceleration, thus removing the "preview only" restriction) and while this will not be a free update, donors will receive a discount towards the purchase which will be greater than the amount they donated. Should you wish to make a donation, please email nick [at] antlerpost [dot] com Best Nick Shaw Workflow Consultant London, UK
  4. Just to let people know, the plug-ins are now released. If you enquired about them but have not received an email, check your spam filter then contact me.
  5. RED now have REDlog film, which is essentially the same thing. Although the original REDlog may be a more mathematically efficient way to fit 12 bit linear sensor data into a 10 bit file, I guess Red have know acknowledged that fitting into a standard workflow might be more important in some cases than absolute mathematical efficiency.
  6. I have created a set of plug-ins for applying the Alexa LogC to video LUTs to ProRes material in Final Cut Pro. They also have the option to add burn-ins of reel name, time-code, and a line of free text. They are not intended to be used as part of a finishing pipeline, but hopefully should be useful to people for preview, dailies and editorial. I am just waiting for a bit of feedback from Arri, and expect to release them at the end of this week. If you would like to be sent a download link when I release them, then drop me an email – nick [at] antlerpost [dot] com Cheers Nick Shaw Workflow Consultant London, UK
