Sony has got an universal PL mount on the PMW F3L.So if i am to use Nikon G lenses with MTF PL to G Adapter,which lenses should be suitable and great for cinematography?Can I use Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm VR f2.8G IF-ED ?What if a D type nikkor is used?

sorry for the term "faking",i wanted to capture 1920*1080p resolution but wanted the final edited images to look like something which is shot on 2.35:1 aspect ratio 2k or 4k digital cinematography camera.i understand this post must be somewhere in editing forums but i wanted to hear from experienced people who might have encountered such situations .i thought i might use black bars along with 1920*1080p resolution so that it looks like 2.35:1

how can i fake an apparent 2.35:1 aspect ratio of sony ex3 16:9 native aspect ratio without cropping and affecting the full hd resolution?

I have a question that is constantly nagging me...... 1.I am thinking of using Sony ex-3 with nikon lenses mounted with letus extreme adapter for my project 2.I am proposing to use Blackmagic Design decklink-sdi/ultrastudio sdi with bnc cables to capture the 4:2:2,10bit HD-SDI out put of ex-3 on a desktop. So can anyone explain how can i achieve this?I mean how will i have to set up the capture station with RAID-0/5 storage.Can i capture directly live on premiere pro?

i am from imphal,manipur .in my state since 2001 we have been using digital camcorders for making movies/music videos in a shoestring budget.i can say that in the entire northeast india we are the biggest production hub for digital films.....but lack of experience and technical experts has affected the quality.....looks like more reality show...i hope to change it ........i will do some project in the future to try at my level.like film division,mumbai we need some regulatory body to supervise purely digital production of movies.

i know that i can attach Nikon ai-lenses to Sony pmw-ex3 for more filmic look with letus direct elite adapters .but which nikon lenses are preferred when using letus direct?can i use a matte box and polarizers and filters?[/size]

hi....i have a doubt. can i capture live ,xdcam ex3's hd-sdi onto a black magic hd-link capture card and a desktop? it would be awesome if i get 4:2:2 color space while filming and recording on the set .

are there any books based on xdcam sxs format camcorder cinematography books?

thanks but can u outsource some ideas from filmmakers who have shot in rural india,france,italy or london perhaps coz.....those look awesome n suiting to romantic movies......than these new age romances. i got a few questions if u don't mind coz i am a first timer...may be i am a lot bothering to u....but out of sheer interest i am asking u... 1.can u tell me someone who has got lots of reference reel.i may see them and consult u? 2.it is better look a film cinematic with neutral looks or like a bit warmer or a bit cooler? 3.can i capture xdcam ex-3's much potential 4:2:2 color spaced digital data onto a capture card configured with a desktop over a hd-sdi cable live on the set?

references i can't remember.also lot's of films shot in the world particlarly in romantic movies set in rural areas it seems that those situations of filmming look like unrelated to what i am thinking of.let me research further until then please suggest some of your experiences.crew would be around 20 .we shoot on a tight shoe string unlike hollywood.editing,i am particulary thinking of considering either in final cut pro or adobe premeire elements with after effects for the color correction.

particularly in india, filmmaking is expensive.so we have to resort to indie filmmaking which is even worse from the norms followed in other parts of the world. actually i want to shoot a romantic love story based in rural areas.so i want to know about the basic look of the film which i am going to shoot digitally.i am going to prefer an xdcam ex3 and a dslr.so i would be applying colour correction to achieve the film look.but i am confused.how should be the lighting situations and whether the film should be warm or coolish.a lot of shots is to be shot outside and no studio is going to be involved as i want the natural look of the story. so i request the cinematographers,d.o.p's,directors,filmmakers to provide me some hints and advices. i would be glad to hear!
