  1. I had the privilage back in the 70s to buy a brand new cine camera, and like you would today be assured it was good to use out of the box but nowa days we are all having to buy a camera that could be as old as 30 years or older. My question is what are the things to look out for when buying second, third or even fourth hand cine cameras? Im talking here about 8mm decent quality cameras. I know you would only know for sure that a camera is good when you have put a film through it and looked at the results but what would you test within the camera before going to the expense of buying and proccesing a film.
  2. Ah, Im in UK as well, that looks like a nice splicer and the guy selling it is well respected over here. I will keep an eye on that one, cheers

  4. New on here and for my first post I was wondering what is the oldest film stock you have. I only ask this because I bought some of eflay. six rolls of Std 8 exp date Dec 1949, the others are around the 1950....1953. I have ran one through a Quartz 5 camera and posted it off to a lab in England. I dont hold out much hope to be honest  but he is going to have a go with it for free for me (nice chap that he is) Also I have just got hold of a Canon Auto Zoom 814, This should be ok with the new 100D I presume. Look forward to posting more in future, great forum great find.
