  1. That clearly wouldn't be all that I would be using. I was thinking using the kino off a white card just to give some base light on faces and set then a 150w arri just to help set the low key lighting. What do you guys think?
  2. I have an update. So, another crew and mine are splitting on renting color corrected florescent bulbs, and depending I will most likely be using those which will just be where standard light fixtures are(think a class room or computer lab).
  3. It is indoors. No windows in the area so their would be no sunlight coming in, but it is supposed to be day. Set dressing I would assume is that their will be a few benches garbage cans, map on the wall in a glass bulletin board. In the picture the white inside the area is where the director wants the bench and the white connect to the walls is actually an extra wall for the bus station for the exit, so i was having an idea to like sine some light hiting that wallto make it look like it is coming from outside, but everything else I don't really know. The jist of the story is a hooker buys a ticket for the bus and sits and waits on the bench(she isnt dressed like a hooker though, just in sweats) and a man on the phone sits beside her. Long story short they begin talking because they realize they are old friends. Her pimp walks up and starts yelling at the guy saying" you like what you see?" Pimp starts yelling at the girl and drags her away but the guy hits him in the face and the pimp leaves. My idea was for it to be like a dark setting kinda grimy, have one of the lights from above flickering(i believe i would need a dimmer for that correct?) But, yea that's pretty much it. Thanks for replying so fast by the way! If i missed anything tell me...
  4. Okay, so I am the D.P. for a film project and my Director is really giving me no creative control and yet not telling me anything I am supposed to be doing that he wants. So, this is what I have. The set is 24 by 20 feet. Set dressings hasn't been finalized but pretty much everything that happens is around a bench that two of the main characters will sit then get up. Can't really give you the details about the script because it is really bad. Our film program is working with the acting program on this and for some reason the actors wrote the scripts. But anywho, I need help with how I should light this. I am wanting like a dark type look with hard shadows. What i have to work with is 3 1kw red heads, a kino, 2 150w arri's and 1 300w arri. I can also look into renting or buying practicals and lighting it like that but i really need some help here. Thanks in advance! Skursky Director of Photography in the making.
