  1. Thanks. Do you know if the old Soviet-era filmstocks Svema and ORWO have remjet?
  2. Thanks, Simon. On the color negative, I believed the remjet may be the issue. This also happens with the reversal film as well, which does not require remjet removal.
  3. I have some questions regarding at home Spiral Tank processing. I have been mixing 2 litres of chemistry for 100' rolls of color reversal(ORWO/Svema & Kodak E-6) and, just recently, color negative(ECN-2) 16mm film. After running the first devloper, the solution is sometimes black and seems to effect the image of the bottom 50' layer of film (dark and muddy). Should I only run 50' at a time at the top spiral? Should agitation be constant to mix chemistry, or maybe try to filter the developer before running the other 50'? You advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  7. Hello dear Fomapan Users, After many years of dealing with U.S. labs that have provided mixed results in processing Fomapan R100, there are two labs here in the U.S. that have mastered processing this film without pushing the exposure. Spectra Film & Video in Burbank, CA www.spectrafilmandvideo.com dr-5 Chrome Lab in Denver, CO www.dr5.com Ive had both excellent result with these labs in processing Fomapan R100 film here in the U.S. In Europe, Wittner Kinotechnik is the lab to use for Fomapan.
  8. As far as labs that process Fomapan R100 correctly with great results, I have only come across 1 in the USA. This is DR-5 Chrome in Denver, CO.(http://www.dr5.com/. They usually only deal with still/slide film, but have agreed to run Foma's cine line. They are more expensive than most lab in the U.S. that deal with it, but the results are flawless. I used to send my Foma to Yale Film & Video in Burbank, but the results were not consistent eventhough they run it separate from Kodak. In Germany, Wittner Kinotechnik processes Fomapan with Foma chemistry with good results. Anyone dealing in Fomapan R100 should use DR-5's lab.

  11. Foma is NOT adding these to their line. They are custom loads done by Spectra Film in Burbank, CA. They are slit from DS8 stock and loaded into Kodak Carts. Svema started doing this just before they went out. I dont know why Foma never considered this. mosesfilm
