  1. Hi Phil! Thanks a lot for the tips! I'm in Japan. I dunno about the weather yet. It's 3 weeks or so away. Right now I'm gathering info on how to shoot day for night, so I can prepare by testing beforehand. I'll test out your advice and see how it turns out!
  2. Hi! Im going in production for a couple of days in a forest. I plan to shoot day for night as im on a tight budget and dont have manpower nor budget to get ready any lighting equipment except for small handheld LED lights (like YN160). So im seeking advices here to achieve such a shoot of day-for-night. thanks in advance!
  3. Hi, I'm looking for a wireless / wired portable monitor for filming. I'm hoping to get one that works both ways. Sometimes I'll have my camera assistant to shoot it, and sometimes I'll shoot it myself. So, I need to keep my eye on the picture from distance away and from behind the camera. Does anybody utilize this kind of setting for one's own filming? And hopefully it works for both DSLR and handycam or pro-level digital video cameras. thnx in advance!
  4. Hi guys, I wonder how the film Biutiful is color graded. Or is it mainly the effect of their choice of film they shot on? But anwyays, I wonder if the look on Biutiful is achievable in post. reference(pics): http://cinema.theiapolis.com/movie-2SMV/biutiful/gallery/javier-bardem-as-uxbal-in-biutiful-2010-1045016.html http://images.allmoviephoto.com/2010_Biutiful/2010_biutiful_001.jpg (movie trailer) http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=biutiful Thank you! yaztj
  5. What's the focal length of the Anamorphic, what is the T-stop, does it actually have an iris and what size image plane does it cover? thnx!
  6. Yeah it has. I always thought they were all shot digitally B)
  7. I've just wondered... does anyone know which camera they used to shoot 24 the tv series?
  8. Hi guys, I've recently purchased Panasonic anamorphic adapter LA7200G. I attached it to the normal AF 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR lenses, but they fail to give me sharp images. Is that the lenses I'm using? or the adapter that's not sharp? But, on youtube, i've checked many vids in which they use LA7200G and successfully attained sharp imagery. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!
  9. Hi, first time posting here on Cinematography.com. I'm Yaz. Nice to meet you all! I'd like to ask the question regarding the Kowa anamorphic lens. I see different models like 16-s, 16-d, 8-z, and 2x. Could I ask what the differences are? 16-s and 16-d are for 16mm film camera? and 8-z is for 8mm? if right, then what about 2x? I've watched a couple of videos shot on DSLR mounted with Kowa anamorphic lens. And I couldn't help noticing, 16-s and 16-d vids appear too narrow, compared to that shot with 2x lens. Is that how it would appear when you shoot with 16-s or 16-d anamorphic lens on? Vids shot with 2x on look more like the cinescope films. (Kowa Prominar 16-s) (Kowa 16-d) Thanks in advance!
