  1. One of my ARRI 575 HMI lamps has problem. I realised that it was flickering very badly when I tested it yesterday. Even when I put the ballast on flicker free, the flickering was visible for the eye. I'm going to start shooting a short film on monday and I need all the lamps I have. Anybody has a clue what the problem might be and how to get rid of it? Thanks. Fred
  2. Hi, If any of you guys know abot DVD's with commentary tracks made by cinematographers, camera operators, gaffers or anybody else in that department, it would be great if you could share the names of those films. It's not very common to get hold of films with a DP's commentary. Or maybe I'm wrong. Fred
  3. Thanks David for the advice :) Just wondering if it would look wierd if the fill light in the room came from the side instead of the camera direction. (I'm filming three men sitting at a desk infront of a window, the camera is facing the window)
  4. Hi there, I don?t have a lot of expreience from the industry and I?m going to shoot my first shortfilm on S16. I need some basic advice when it comes to lighting. What is the best way to give an ambient fill to a windom. Night or day doesn?t matter. Which angle and where should I put the lights to make it look naturalistic? And of course, any recommendation on what kind of lights. Ps. I don?t want to overexpose the window too much and I don?t want the scene to look flat either. I really appreciate any advice! Fred
  5. Try ESCAC Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya http://www.escac.es. I'm not sure if they have masters courses, but explore their webpage and I think you'll find something interesting.
