  1. Well i guess ill try something new by pitching myself to the world! If you need a reliable AC give me a call. I know 35mm, 16mm Panavision, Arri and Aaton. Digital like the Red One and Epic, Alexa and Sony models. I have also worked with DSLR video cameras and work well with steadicam. I know my stuff, just looking for another avenue to get work, i am working hard on my craft and look forward to networking with anybody who needs a great assistant cameraman. Reasonable rates that work well for ANY production Daniel "Benny" Bailey Assistant Camera Bennyb21@gmail.com 818.669.4118 http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3120862/
  2. Yes sir I did see that and I'm sure Paul you are a great person to know in this business it's a pleasure, I definitely dont want to take away from that all and I didn't mean to be unappreciative. I'm simply posting up a question to share information with anyone wanting to know about dues as was I and also getting to communicate with other people who I might not meet. Yes indeed I can call the local that's a given! Im just out networking. Thank you for taking the time out to respond to my post.
  3. So i talked to one of my 2nd AC contacts who is amazing and she gave me the 4k entrance fee and 800 a quarter. thanks guys
  4. its labor day weekend all over the world, offices closed thats why i posted this. Looking for any AC that would know. thank you
  5. Hello i was wondering if anyone out there knows how much it is to join the local 600 in Los Angeles as a 2nd AC. I have most of my days with CSATF and just received my safety passport and did my I-9 paperwork so im about ready to start putting away the initiation fees. I have been hearing different figures from guys who have been in the business forever and just wanted a update from any new members. Thanks
  6. it was a fun movie. i worked on 2nd Unit with Paul Hughen great guy
  7. I dunno about where your at but Panavision has always been good for interning and education. I hung out there during my last years in college and ended up interning on Ironman 2. Sweet deal. Just have to put yourself out there
  8. As a 1st AC you should know about the camera you are working with, such as how to troubleshoot and what to do when things go wrong. Also you should know how to calculate shutter changes and ND filter compensations should a DP look to you for proper settings. Like if you are at a T8 and he wants to add a ND6 and do a 200 degree shutter whats the stop? Some guys can give you DOF and COC. In most digital shows you will have a D.I.T or D.C.S who might be able to lend a hand should a technical question come up. I 1st a lot but work on union shows as a 2nd (working my up the food chain), and if i come into contact with a new system i will always go the rental house a day early and go through the menus and settings and just get a feel for it so when im prepping with the boys i have a little bit of know how. Like when we did a 3D show we came 2 days early just to set up and get a feel for the rig. Dont try to learn 5 systems at once, as time progresses you will soon see that knowing 1 camera really well, can help you along the way.
