  1. I've shown it to a few people and I've noticed it happened once when we paused it, it happens a lot on youtube when watching videos in higher definition. Thanks for watching anyway, Rob.
  2. I can see why you would think that, it does look a little like it is. Thanks for watching!
  3. Hello, I have just completed a very short Please, tell me what you think! Thanks, Rob.
  4. Hello, I'm going to buy the Zoom H2 Handy Recorder soon and I want to get a wired lavalier microphone with it. What's the best quality wind-proof kind that's going to pickup as little background sound as possible? Thanks in advance, Rob.
  5. Hello, I recently bought a Mac Pro but I want to be able to edit and render video files faster than how I'm able to at the moment. What would be the best solution? More RAM or some kind of external firewire 800 hard-drive to keep the files I'm editing on? Or something else? I've currently just editing on the Mac's hardd rive and haven't added any extra ram or anything. I'm new to all this so if you know what would help best, I'd greatly appreciate your advice. Thanks, Rob.
  6. My parents have a toyota yaris: Picture: Toyota Yaris And a peugeot 307 estate: Picture: Peugeot 307 Which would be better?
  7. Hello, I need to do some ADR'ing for a film I'm making HOWEVER I still live in my parent's house with all my family, who are always running around, watching Tv, shouting at each other or whatever, so there's no-where in the house I can record peacefully. I do however, own a car. I've come to the conclusion this is the only place, or rather, the least worst place, I can actually ADR. So, I've tried googling but no-one else has ever done this apparently, so if anyone has any good ideas on where to put the microphone, what could I use to cover the windows to stop reverb, where should I sit/stand/or lie? Any suggestions on this topic would be most appreciated by me. Thanks! Rob.
  8. When I film myself (naked and masturbating B) ) the 7D can turn itself off for any number of reasons e.g. some of the crappy memory cards I have do this, or they fill up, but either way, I'm continuing to perform, assuming everything's being captured, and when I'm done I check the camera and discover to my horror that at some point it decided to stop filming. I am a newbie to this, so is there a way that little light on the front of the camerac be used as the 'we're still filming' light, or can you turn on some audible bleeping noise that tells you in the settings? Short of that, I'm open to DIY suggestions like putting something reflective behind it, I don't know, maybe I'm the first person to have this problem, but, as always, Thank you in advance for your suggestions, Rob.
  9. Hello, There's a program called Pluraleyes (http://www.singularsoftware.com/pluraleyes.html ) that's used for when you're recording dialogue to a source that isn't the camera. It 'listens' to the poor quality sound coming from the camera's own microphone, and replaces it automatically with the good sound recorded from your sound recorder, saving hours of synch editing. I had to dub/ ADR all my dialogue in a film I'm making, and of course, it's taking a while matching every single line of ADR'd dialogue with what's on screen. My question is this, would plural eyes be able to synch ADR'd audio over the original recordings? To be honest, I'm guessing it wouldn't work, so I don't want to spend $150 on something that's going to be totally useless to me, but of course I could be wrong, and pluraleyes could be a lot smarter than I think. Could someone give an educated guess, or if you know it will/won't work, please reply! Thanks, Rob.
  10. Hi, I've got a rode videomic and I need to dub/adr some lines, and I was wondering, what are the best conditions for doing this, short of having your own private recording studio? I've just started learning Adobe Audition in preparation for sound mixing, but I'm sure the placement of the microphone and the conditions of the room you're recording in are going to play a big part in quality, so any advice would be mucho appreciated. Thanks, Rob.
  11. Hi, Could someone please tell me of any good packages for a variety of background ambience sounds? I don't mind paying if there are some good ones you could recommend, or are there some websites that provide such a service? Thanks, Rob.
  12. I just realised I made a mistake on my original post. I meant to write I have no qualms about buying used lenses, not the opposite!
  13. Hello, I have a Canon 7D, with a Nikon 50mm F1.4 Manual Focus Prime Lens which creates this kind of an image: My linkhttp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/269/37973869.jpg/ With my old Panasonic hdc-sd200 camcorder, with a wide angle lens attachment, taken from the exact same position I get this image: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/imga0070x.jpg/ What I want is a lens that produces as wide an image as the second photo, that will fit my DSLR, that produces the best possible quality for around $300. I have qualms about buying a used lens, in fact It's probably going to be my best bet to buy from somewhere like ebay. In case it isn't already blindingly obvious, I'm a total newbie to the DSLR world, so I would really appreciate advice on what kind of lens I should get. Please excuse my ignorance on the matter! Thanks in advance for your opinions, Rob.
