I've done some searching over the past few days and haven't found any results, though forgive me if this is out there and Ive just missed it.
Using an anamorphic lens/adapter on a 16:9 sensor will obviously produce a ridiculously wide image, that will require cropping to achieve 2:35. As the 5D offers a SD mode in 4:3, that would be the easier solution workflow wise I would imagine (considerably lower resolution of course but I may be ok with this.
Has anyone done any anamorphic tests with the 4:3 SD mode on the 5D (or any other canon dslr I suppose)?
