  1. G'day everyone, Just wondering if anyone had experience changing over there Ronford base? ie: Moy to 150m or 150mm to moy I have a Heavy duty Moy base and am considering doing a change over to the bowl, i know the length of the columns on the bowl are shorter and will fashion spacers, just wondering if this will compromise the overall weight load capacity of the legs? cheers
  2. G'day people, I just purchased a Chrosziel 204-01 Studio rig Cine , This is my first Serious Follow Focus ( previous was a cheap fixed gear contraption) With absolutely NO control :-) Don't know how many of you have Chrosziel FF's or gear in general, but there website is bloody confusing???? Was looking to purchase gears in the standard 0.8mm pitch, but along with contradictory information and a confusing table of gears for applications ( website ), not certain which ones?? Any one use Chrosziel gears on the follow focus's??? any suggestions or opinions?? Thank you
  3. G'day, Would like to purchase a Ronford-Baker medium duty tripod 1 or 2 stage in 150mm ball , in good condition preferably with a ground level spreader can contact me direct if you wish konstantian@yahoo.co.nz cheers, Dean
  4. Yeah Thanks for that Chris, Appreciate it! Some people just go off the deep end, don't they?
  5. G'day People, Forgive my ignorance in this topic, don't know much about Camera support in general Was considering a Cartoni head with Mitchell compatibility, I myself reside in Australia where i think 150mm ball is predominate as in Europe i suspect, My RED one personal kit will never really succeed 45 lbs, so 150mm ball makes sense to me, and it seems easier to find legs for Mid Level Spreaders than with Mitchell flat mounts, i Hate ground Spreaders!!!! only because of location shooting and versatility I would like to hear your views about this subject, sorry if this topic has been posted previously Regards, Dean

  7. G'day Jaron, Thanks for the info, at this stage i think i definitely need a to go into 150mm territory, and i agree with you regarding the Vintens and primarily orientated around studio work, every single one iv'e seen for sale has ground level spreader!! can't ever seem to find one with a mid level spreader ;-( And regarding there resale value being soo much lower than a Sachtler i guess it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with there quality, just the market there in? This adaptive dampening sounds interesting, wonder if the older vision SD22 ( replaced by the vision 250 ) has this feature?
  8. Yeah thanks guys, Any thoughts about Cartoni C40 vs Vinten Vision SD22?? i've never had to go beyond 100mm before
  9. G'day People, Just wondering if i could call upon the experience and knowledge of this forum in terms of conclusively defining what percentage of a heads load capacity can be utilised for the best Full variations of camera movement without having to compromise creatively on any shots? I've been told on more than one occasion from company reps. that only about 50% of the stated load bearing capacity should be used? like 20lbs for a 40lb rated head I have a RED One kit w. Cooke 18-100mm coming in around 42 lbs, was considering a Sachtler Video 20P ( 44 lbs ) but i don't think thats realistic now One another subject has anyone ever used a Vinten Vision SD22 ??? or older Cartoni C40 ? Any feedback would be highly appreciated!!!!!!!!! Regards, Dean
